Possibly a worn belt, seized/partially seized pulley (contacting serp. belt), worn belt tensioner or something melting to exhaust manifold.

Crack has a very sweet smell, like burnt marshmellows.

The possible explanation for the smell may be that the heater core in the vehicle has a slight leak, therefore the smell of evaporating antifreeze will come through the vents until it is all dried up. Solution is to take the car to a garage and get the heater core replaced.

Fan belt slipping

likely causes are the fuel sending gasket or the rubber gas filler. they are cheap to change out so i would suggest it. Next would likely be the tank itself.

are you definitely sure it smells like gas? because sometimes your car can smell really bad, and that's caused by a petrol spill on the engine that gets burnt while you're driving. i think you should definitely get it checked out by a mechanic though, just incase its something serious.

Release pressure from fuel line by removing fuel pump fuse and attempting to turn engine over. It may start for a few seconds but will die shortly after. Undo any connectors or vacuum lines that are in the way. remove clips off back of injectors where it is connected to fuel rail. Remove fuel rail bolts and electrical connections. injectors should now pull out with a little effort..

White smoke means there's water or coolant mixing in with your fuel. Could mean a blown head gasket or intake manifold. Have the Blazer towed to a mechanic ASAP! The more you drive it like this, the more expensive the damage will be to repair.

It depends on what color of smoke and how it smells. The question is somewhat vague. However, if the smoke is white it is due to burning oil. Black is from burning gasoline. If the smoke is coming from the exhaust pipe then you either have leaking valves or oil is blowing past the piston rings, both are significant problems. If the smoke is coming from under the hood the most likely issue would be leaking valve covers or a leaking PCV valve.
