How do you keep cats from peeing on chairs?

First, take the cat to the vet. If there are no urinary tract or other problems, place litter boxes in places where he/she should not be doing his 'business'. If you can't do that (like if your cat is doing his/her business where you have to walk), make the place where he's going as unattractive as possible, and the spot where he's supposed to go as attractive as possible. Put a rug under his litterbox, and don't clean the box too often. Turn the place where he's going into a feeding station; he won't do his business near his food. Place the litterbox in a quiet, easily accessible place (young kittens and senior cats don't like going up and down stairs a lot). Remove every bit of evidence of his urine from the place he's been using (don't use cleaning products containing ammonia, they'll smell like pee to the cat and he/she will attempt to cover it by peeing again), also, you can temporarily put aluminum foil in the place where the cat's not supposed to go (they don't like the sound or feel of aluminum foil, so they'll avoid the area. Also, spraying lemon scent will repel a cat.

I have been advised to use an aerosol spray of male Mountain Lion or Bobcat scent to deter domestictes' spraying of furniture.

What cause your cat to lick herself to the point shes raw?

I am speaking from my own personal experience of being the owner of a cat when I suggest that your cat may be stressed. Many cats when stressed over groom their selves to the point when they become bald. I am not a vet so I cannot properly diagnose your cats complaint but every time my cat grooms herself 'bald' she is simply stressed !

Will it be safe to pivk up a 2week old kitten?

Yes it should be safe just be very very careful when kittens are that young they are very fragile. You should gently use your hand and go under the kitten wrap your hand around to the other side and make sure the kitten is held tight. I have a cat named "Kitty" he is so cute and evil lol he bites allot.

I hope you found this tip helpful.

Why do kittens often growl hiss and meow and want to run away from you?

Kittens often growl to say that they want you to stay away from them. Showing this may be the sticking up of fur or hissing, or flattening ears. Kittens don't often growl because they want to play, because if you throw a ball somewhere in the house, of course it won't stop to growl at you. I know my friend has an EVIL Shorthair kitten named Torre. (Tore) (Ee) is how you say it. But when I first saw her she growled and hissed and meowed and yelped and scrambled everywhere. I was only trying to pet her, but now I don't understand why she won't stop growling and doing that stuff because I am trying to be very nice by giving her treats every time I go to my friend's house. But Torre just hates that... if you got anything to say about what I can do, I got a space below for you... (Don't just say leave the cat alone please because I need REAL HELP)

_________________________________________________________________________

Torre can be a territorial animal. If she's your friends only pet, then she may feel as though you're trying to take over her master.

Or, if you're around other animals yourself, she can smell them and become jealous.

The best thing I can say, although you said not to say "leave the cat alone", but do just that. You don't want to force yourself onto Torre because she'll never warm up to you. She'll have to do it on her own terms.

Another reason why cats hiss/growl/meow, is because they are not comfortable around people/animals they just met. Cats are good source of character and can tell if you're a negative person.

How can you get a feral cat to let you touch her?

Well, first of all you can try to squat down, and make soft meows, the cat might usually come to you if you do only that. Befriending a feral cat needs a lot of time and patience on your part, as it will be wary of humans being so close. One of the most effective methods for any cat to come close to you is to offer small morsals of meat, such as cooked chicken or a bit of fish.

Is malathion dangerous to cats?

Malathion has shown very good activity as a non-systemic wide spectrum insecticide effective in to control insects on fruits and vegetables. This pesticide is the oldest and most heavily used aliphatic organophosphate, having been introduced in 1950 and quickly adopted for agricultural use on most vegetables, fruits, and forage crops to control an extensive range of insect pests.

Malathion was found to be safe for use around pets, and seems to control practically every kind of garden and household insect including both aphids and cockroaches. It is even used on humans to control head, body, and crab lice, and as a flea powder for dogs, cats, and other domestic animals.

Nevertheless, it's general practice not to use malathion on cats that are younger than 10 weeks.

What are fringed paws on a cat?

'Fringed Paws' on cats or dogs is a term where you don't have the groomer (or if you cut the fur on your cat's feet) make a complete rounded look to the paw. Fringed means that little fringes of hair are left (not too long) and then grooming them with a brush. It's neat, but not so rounded in appearance.

Can a declawed cat survive outside?

Answer

Perhaps it could, if it is a very lucky cat. But its chances of survival are not good.

Answer

A cat's instincts are very good, and if they got into the woods, it may catch a mouse or squirrel if it is lucky. If you have lost a declawed cat, don't worry. Its instincts may lead it back home soon.
