4.) install performance air intake manifold. your looking at about $1200.00 not to bad

you'll get about 60 more hp from these upgrades putting you over 220 hp you'll smoke any new cobalt SS with no problem and keep up with any stock Acura RSX turbo or not.

I have these upgrades and beat Pontiac grand prix GTP's and Ford mustang 5.0 gt all the time..it's actually quit comical....the look on their faces. The Cavelier is a very light car even compared to the acura RSX.

If you're talking about the 2200 sfi ohv, you should be able to get over 240,000 miles on it with no problem if you treat it nicely (Oil changes, transmission fluid changes, maybe a fuel additive as you reach 200k and beyond.) I got mine at just under 200k and have only done high milage oil or Lucas additives with regular oil and it runs great and is closing on 250k. Be warned the transmission is much more prone to failure so always consider that.

To fix the cigarette lighter on a Chevy Cavalier, check the fuse first. Next check the wiring and the cigarette lighter itself for a problem.

Note:The drivebelt routing decal on the radiator shroud to help during drivebelt install * To replace the belt rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise to release belt tension * Remove the belt from the auxiliary components and slowly release the tensioner * Route the new belt over the various pulleys again rotating the tensioner to allow the belt to be installed then release the belt tensioner

CHEVROLET Cavalier 1995-99 Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Remove (3) 7mm hex-head screws from the top of the glove box liner. Remove (2) 7mm hex-head screws from the top-left corner of the glove box cavity. Remove (1) Phillips screw from the defroster duct. Remove the duct work and (1) Phillips screw exposed. Unclip the dash trim piece and remove (2) Phillips screws exposed. Remove the dash pad and (3) Phillips screws exposed at the top of the radio trim bezel.

You can get a manual from a local parts store (which is a really good thing to have anyway) Or calling a local garage or dealership (most times they won't tell you because they want you to BRING them business) Or you can call your school district's Vocational school which usually has an auto repair class. They have access to most manuals, online databases and computer software with any information your heart desires.

There are two ways, each with benefits. The first is to locate the four mounting bolts of the fan shroud on the back (engine side) of the radiator, remove them, disconnect the electrical supply to each of the fans and wrestle the shroud containing the fans out of the car. It may be necessary to loosen the belt tensioner and move the serpentine belt out of the way. I have done it like this, but getting to all of these shroud bolts can be frustrating. The second way is to drain the radiator from the petcock located on the lower passenger side of the radiator, remove the radiator hoses (being careful when coolant wants to drain from the hoses still attached to the block), remove the transmission cooler lines, remove the four mounting bolts securing the radiator to the frame and lift the entire unit out. Remove the fans and shroud and replace. These two methods are close, because the shroud bolts can be difficult to get started once they are out while everything is still in the car. Irregardless of which method you choose, be very careful of things bumping the radiator as it is easily damaged.

i had to replace it in my car without labor the part cost 256.00 you have to have it coded also.

The carburetor will have to be taken apart to install a new fuel float. After the top is off, the float sits in the bowl resting on a rod. Pick it straight up, remove the needle and install it on the new float. Put the carburetor back together with new gaskets.

exhaust puh rod is longer. they measure 6 inches while intake push rods measure 5.68 in

Make sure you have the correct sequence

Short Bolts 43

Long Bolts 46

Step 2

Tighten an additional 90-degrees

Look at the transmission, directly below the air filter. There is a small plug (usually blue, could be black) It's square with 4 circle prongs sticking out of it. The clip holding it in is located on the bottom of the plug. (That plug is where the torque converter lock-up sensor is - remove side-pan for access)

Drain the radiator. Remove the fan and fan shroud if needed. Remove the pump belt. Unbolt the pump and remove it. Install the new pump. Reinstall the belt, fan and fan shroud. Refill the system with new coolant.

remove belt,remove hoses, 3 bolts are accesible through the holes in the pulley, then 1 bolt to the rear of the pump just be patient and weasle it out

if the car has been overheated, the ect sensor may have been damaged. check the electrical connection to the sensor. you may have to replace the sensor. it is located on the drivers side end of cylinder head, just behind water outlet (2.2L) on the 2.3L it is on the driver side rear corner of cylinder head.
