It's pretty easy to remove the window switch on that year Lincoln. Take a small screw driver and pry up on the window switch carefully and it will pop out of the door panel. Here's also a link to a video that will show you how to do this.

There is a tranny dipstick that is not visible from the top. If you look under the car there is a dipstick near the upper control arm.

You have to pull the tranny as it is located internally

I have a 98' Cavalier and you must pry and pop a clip off of the rod sticking out of the passenger side seat where the hinge bracket is. Once the clip is removed (be careful it is only plastic)the back oof the seat can be slid about 1/2 an inch over towards the passenger side, causing the rod on the opposite side of the seat to be released from it's hinge bracket. Then simply lift the back part of the seat on the drivers side about 1 inch ( with the seat folded forward all the way)and jiggle very slightly as you pull outwards, towards the drivers side. Remove the cover from your 1986 Chevy Cavalier radio. Remove the radio retaining screws. Slide the radio out and remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable.

My 1999 Dodge 2500 club cab with diesel did the same thing today, (100k miles, second owner). It was fine when I started, but after stopping at a traffic light it would not upshift out of first gear. Remove the wiring harness from your 1988 Chevy Cavalier fuel pump. Remove the fuel lines from the fuel pump. Remove the fuel pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new fuel pump.

A blown fuse can cause your fuel gauge and speedometer to stop working. Replace the fuse. The fuse can be found in the fuse box. The location of the fuse will be listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.

I just learned this today. There is a small plug (bolt) that u have to remove on the bottom of your transmission. it is located under your car on the passenger side. You will need a hoist, because the car should be sitting level. When you remove this plug fluid should come out if level is full. I hope this is some help to you If it is a manual, YOU DONT HAVE ONE. Because you dont need to check the tranny fluid unless you have a leak, at which time you should be on your way to a mechanic

There is a difference in the wiring and ECU between 96 and 97. I don't have a wiring diagram for them, but I believe most haynes manuals should have it. The 97 harness and ECU is a much more desirable setup if you intend to tune the engine since the 96 ECU is not supported by any aftermarket tuning programs.

According the the owners manual on a 2.2L 1997 manual, 2-door, it says it holds 15.2 gallons. An owner's manual update (for my 2000 model) I got with my used Cavalier says change to 14.2 gallons .

same as you do on any other Chevy . There is a special tool made for it but i make mine out of an old regular,flat head, screwdriver by bending the tip 90 degrees with a 1/16 lip. Squeeze it down behind the handle until you find the clip grab it and pull upward and it will come out and you can take your handle off !

i cant find out anywhere, there are 3 screws that i have removed, and can take the case off from around the handle, but that's where im stuck. maybe a crowbar?

Ok, the firing order for the 4 cylinder engine is 1-3-4-2. Judging by the fact that you asked for as much info as possible, you're probably also going to want the diagram. I got hte firing order out of my Haynes Maunal, and I would recommend that you get one too. They are about 12 dollars at most auto places. I personally got mine at Autozone. You may also be able to find a diagram on the net, but I was unable to after looking for about five mins. Firing Order:

The sensor is stuck if the bottle is full. Just shake it up, it will unstuck.

It is bolted on to the inner driver side fender with a 10mm bolt. It will be right by the battery.....5 wires running to it if I remember correctly.
