How do you jump a battery in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt?
There are two places for jump starting the Cobalt. There is a connection under the hood on the right side of the engine (you'll see the red plastic cover) for the positive and you connect the negative to the bolt on the frame just in front and to the right of the positive connection.
You can also connect directly to the battery which is in the trunk under the mat with the spare tire.
i am having the same problem...have you found the solution yet?
I had the same problem and had to get the steering column replaced. This is not something anyone can cause nor prevent. I had it fixed by the dealer but GM was not accomodating in fixing the defect in their product. I have filed a complaint with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at (888) 327-4236. If enough people call with complaints, it can prompt a recall in which GM will have to pay for the reapirs. I encourage anyone with power steering problems to call and file a complaint. This power steering component is the same as the Pontiac G6. NHTSA forced an extension on the warranty of that part due to complaints by G6 owners.
Oil pan replacement cost 2006 Chevy Cobalt?
On my Pontiac Grand Prix, the total replacement cost of the oil pan was estimated at $700. The oil pan itself should cost less than $100 but the labor on most cars is quite involved and includes raising the engine and/ or lowering part of the frame of the car.
Where to get another ignition key for 2005 cobalt?
Have to get it a the dealership... think it runs about $25.00. They may have to program it... just look on your key does it have a + sign on the metal upper part near the plastic? If so then it needs to be cut and programmed by the dealership. Thanks,
Wes
2006 Chevy Cobalt key ignition not turning?
My wife and I had this problem with our 2008 Cobalt LT. It was still under the bumper to bumper warranty, thankfully. However, the repair ticket almost made it look like they covered it under the 5 year/100K mile warranty, so you can try that. The problem was that some of the tumblers inside the ignition lock cyllinder (the part into which you slide the key) were damaged/bent. Now the dealer screwed up and didn't cut the new keys properly, so they're redoing that, but it should be solved ...

Try to use Chevy speaker adapter plugs so you don't need to cut wires and mess the electric system up. You can get them from Ebay or Amazon

Chevy Cobalt has a sealed Automatic Transmission... no dip stick. Probably best to take it in to get service by trans shop if you think it needs changing or re-filling. Thanks,

How do you remove a door panel on a 2005 Chevy cobalt to replace the passenger side window?
Well, removing the door panel isn't too difficult, but I don't think you'll be able to replace the window by doing that. However, here is the process anyways:
For the most part, the door just pops off, except for roughly 3 screws. Two (2) screws are located inside the little pocket on the door's arm rest. The other screw is located behind the door handle.
If looking at the door from the inside, on the left side of the panel (near where the door latches to the door frame), there are two pins that can be easily popped out with a flathead screw driver. After those have been removed the only part left is the crank knob for the window (provided you have manual windows).
For this, there is a small C clamp directly behind where the knob attaches to the door. This can be difficult to get off. You might need a small sharp hook of some sort. Once this is off, simply pop the panel off of the door; it should not take too much effort.
How do you replace the blower motor resistor pack on a Trailblazer?
1) Order the resistor pack from your local parts store or dealership. Shop around - prices vary quite a bit. Most parts stores will need to order this from their warehouse, so it might take a day or three to get the part. Dealerships will probably have it in stock, but it will cost more. I don't know whether there is any difference in quality from one store to another.
2) The resistor pack is located under/behind the glove box. Remove the plastic fascia under the glove box by removing the two screws (one on each of the box, and just below it.) Also remove the push-in wire harness anchor.
3) Now look under (upward) the glove box. You will see the resistor pack. Remove the two 5.5mm screws and replace with the new resistor pack.
4) Replace the fascia under the glove box.
How do you remove the ignition key cylinder on a Chevy Beretta?
According to the Chilton Corsica/Beretta 1988-1996 Manual, there are 21 steps to removing the ignition cylinder (and another 15 - 20 to reinstall it). Not that I don't want to past them all here, but you should get a manual... they're handy to have for any repairs.
Why would a 97 Crown Victoria chime sound with the key removed and any door opened?
A worn ignition switch causes this. You did not turn the ignition off to the locked position. So you would not need the key to turn the car back on. Make sure when you take your key out you can't turn your car back on and then when you open a door it will not make a noise. Just a security feature.......?
Chevrolet Cobalt key won't turn in ignition?
The ignition on a Chevrolet Cobalt will not turn with the key if it is does not correct align inside. This will block the cylinder from turning and prevent starting.
