AnswerThe above answer is correct. The Monte from 95 an up is designed to hold a 60 degree V6 (meaning the angle or V the piston cylinders make is 60 degrees. All Chevy V8's are 90 degrees. The 4.3 V6 is also 90 degrees because it is based on the Chevy small-block V8. Therefor, even upgrading to a 4.3 V6 is impossible to do easily. Major modifications would have to be made to the engine compartment, including the subframe.
