Well the first thing to check is the vehical speed sensor (VSS), does you speedometer work? If that checks out ok, take it to the trans shop for an estimate usually not that much, and often times free.

You have a series of bolts, that would be under the valve covers, which stagger up, and down. Then you have a row, that run along the outside botton, below the exhaust ports. These will be the "lower" bolts, and the previous, the upper. On the uppers, right in the middle, start there. Then, go to the upper, just to the right. Now, on the lower, you will not have one centered, so start on the one just to the right, then move to the one just to the left, on the lower. Then, to the upper, just to the left, of the center. Now, upper, two to the right of center. Then lower, two to the right of center, then the same on the lower two, to the left. Then the upper, two to the left of center, then three, to the right of center, then three to the right of center, on the lower, and three to the left center, lower. You will notice a circular pattern here. Just follow it. Remember to use Permatex, the brown liquid, on the threads, as these bolts go into water jackets. Also, go halfway to torque, first round, then the rest of the way, on the second round, then go back over them a couple of times. Unless you spring for the no-retorque head gaskets, re check them around 1000 miles.

Take your Chevy Monte Carlo and push it off a large hill. I have a 1995 z34 3.4 V6, it has been having the problem where it will just crank and crank and crank. It does not turn over for some reason. Also when driving, it will cut-out, and sometimes lose power. So far I have replaced plugs and wires... no help. This weekend I guess I'm going to replace fuel pump, fuel regulator, and fuel filter. Will let you know if this fixes the problem. Just a hint though... if you have one of these cars, get it running ok and SELL!!!! GET RID OF IT... YOU'LL ONLY CONTINUE TO PUT MONEY INTO ONCE IT'S HIT 110K MILES. GOOD LUCK

The remaining gas/temperature/compass display has not turned on since last night. Occasionally it takes a few moments to start but definitely not for an entire day through multiple trips. On top of this, the AC seems to be frozen on one setting even if I change it dramatically. Sometimes it does freeze for a few minutes but it always seems to reset itself. Now it seems like the entire computer system is frozen.
