check to see that you don't have a blown fuse in the fiusebox for your heated seats and also make sure all the wires are plugged in under the seat.

4.5 Qts. with a new filter.

Raise the car high enough so that you can work under it safely,(a hoist or on 4 jack stands). Put your drain pan under the under the trans pan, (make sure it's big enough to hold several quarts)and remove the front and side bolts from the trans pan and loosen the back bolts by about 1/2 a turn. Carefully pry the front edge loose and let the fluid drain into your catch pan. Once it's reasonably drained take out the rest of the bolts, drop the pan and gasket. Scrape off any old gasket, clean the pan out with solvent and make sure you don't loose the magnet. Next step, remove the filter and pry out the old seal, push a new seal all the way into the bore and replace the filter. Make sure there isn't any old gasket left on the trans and wipe the surface off with solvent. Put the new gasket on the pan and lift it into place. Start all the bolts and then tighten then slowly in a circular pattern until they are all torqued to 18 ft.lb. So, now you just put the car back on the ground, put four litres of Dexron 111 into the trans through the fill tube, start the car, let it warm up and then, with the brake on, move the shift lever down through the gears and back to Park. Check the level on the dipstick and add fluid as required. Have a peek underneath for leaks and yer good to go!

According to the owner's manual (I have a '01 Monte SS too,) the 3.8 V6 in the SS puts out 200 hp. The 3.4 V6 in the LS puts out 180 hp. I know that doesn't sound like a lot of HP, but these engines put out a lot of torque to make up for it. This is a fairly simple repair. Look around under the hood of your car for a "belt routing diagram." It's usually on the passenger side of the car. Use this to know how to route the belt when you replace it. Also, on this little diagram, there should be a picture of a pulley marked, "tensioner." Use this to locate your belt tensioner pulley. It should be a black pulley held in place by a metal arm. There is a bolt, going through the pulley. I believe it's 15mm. If you place a wrench on this bolt, you can use the wrench to create leverage, to move the tensioner. I belive it moves towards the front of the car. But, use this to relive pressure from your belt to remove it. Then, consult your diagram again to reroute your new belt. It's easiest to wrap the belt around all of the pulleys, except for the alternator pulley. Then, detenstion your tensioner pulley again, and flip the belt over the alternator pulley. You should be good from there. Before you start your car. Make sure the belt is seated well on all of your pulleys. Start the car. Let it idle for a minute or two. Keep your hands and tools clear of the moving belt, and look to see that the belt is moving well in it's path. Shut the car off, and check to see that the belt is seated well once more, and your done.

I believe a dry vent is one that does not allow waste to go through it but just air to be released.

The engine oil drain plug is located at the lowest point on the engine usually found on the very bottom of the oil pan.

The '99 Monte Carlo doesn't have a reverse signal input. I'm guessing you're referring to the stock radio. The most the radio has is an auxillary output for the optional 10 or 12 disc CD changer.

First you have to remove the plastic dash cover that goes around the radio, a/c vents, and steering wheel (it just pops off). there are 2 screws that hold the radio in, remove the 2 screws and pull the stereo oun and unplug.

Turn the key to on (not start) and when the dash lights come on quickly press the gas pedal to the floor three times in less than 5 seconds. This should reset the light. If not, try it again. If you have the drivers information panel you will have to go through the reset on it as described in your owners manual.

Drain the water from the cooling system. Remove the belt from the water pump. Remove the water hose from the water pump. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Apply a brand-new gasket and reverse the process to install the new water pump.

There are two oxygen sensors on your monte. One on the back side of the motor right after the coupler for the exhaust manifold and downpipe. The other is behind your catalytic converter.
