Will two gallons of water detox your body?

"Dextoxing" is a popular fad. There's no evidence that any "dextoxing" therapy does anything, or removes any of the mysterious "toxins" from your body. Unless you have organ failure, your body is completely capable of "detoxing" itself. While it's important to remain well hydrated, consuming two gallons of water at once is extreme.

Is aloe water good for you?

Not usually, if used correctly, it can be good for you. I've used it for more than 6 months to help with my acid reflux. I used to take Prilosec, but have been off it for months thanks to aloe juice. Start with 1 ounce for a week and increase by one ounce each week until you reach 6 ounces. Drinking more than 6 ounces at a time or not easing into it can make your stomach sick. I no longer even drink it daily, only when needed.

If the taste bothers you, it can be diluted with water. I've also heard of people freezing it into popsicles. I buy it at Walmart but more expensive brands at health stores use a more select type of the plant and can get rid of a lot of the taste. But you will pay a lot more for those. You can mix it with other types of juices as well.

What is a good detox program for a 14-year-old that is not very harsh on the body?

I feel badly for you as it must be pretty scary for you. Detox Centers aren't there to make your life miserable. You can talk to your doctor (without your parents) and be honest to the doctor! Tell them you want to go to Detox, but you are afraid and you need to know what is going to happen to you. Some Detox Centers take you off gradually and give you SOME medications to lessen any side effects while others prefer "cold turkey" meaning no aid for vomiting, cramps, etc. You can choose what one you want to go too. If you post under this post and let us know what town/city you live in I'd be more than happy to research this for you so you can start detoxing. I'm really proud of you and you're one smart young man!

How do you clean your belly button?

The technique for cleaning a navel depends on the type of debris that is loading the navel and if the navel is convex or concave (outie or innie). If you are encountering common navel lint, you should be able to purge a concave navel digitally. Now, that does not mean you should stick your computer in your navel, that simply means that your fingertip should be enough to sweep the lint out.

In stubborn cases, you might consider enlisting the aid of a fellow navel cleaner to assist. Cooperative navel hygiene is a strong bonding activity.

High pressure air (greater than 30 psi) should be avoided as should high pressure steam. Ensure that you do not use sharp objects.

Avoid prolonged picking at your navel because you might accidentially un-knot your navel. If you have ever seen what an unknotted balloon does when you release it, that should give you cause for concern.

What to do after detox is completed to stay free from alcohol?

A careful assessment is needed to really answer the question well. After a detox, maybe residential treatment is needed. If you have no support system, an extensive history of abuse and failed attempts, an extensive list of substances, and no people around you to help you through, then I would recommend residential treatment. This is NOT the same as sober housing or recovery housing. Residential treatment is really a lock-down environment, but you are NOT in jail. You can leave, but then you're out of the program. The idea is to immerse yourself in treatment around others struggling with the same things, and with all the counseling, support and education that you need. Some programs will allow clients to be on therapeutic methadone or suboxone; others will not.

If that level of treatment is not called for, the Intensive Outpatient may be the ticket. This is where you are in a clean/safe private living situation, or sober/recovery housing, and you spend several hours a day, perhaps 3 days a week, at a clinic or agency. You attend meetings, get counseling, education and support.

For some, even after a detox and depending on lots of other factors, good outpatient counseling will be enough. At this level or any of these levels, treatment may be supplemented with good mental health and psychiatric treatment.

Whatever you do, don't think that a detox has cured you. It has kept you from dying, but unless you want a lifetime of countless detoxes, get the help you need. And don't be discouraged or surprised if it takes a few runs up and down the stairway before the light comes on. Many end up with a few prison bids before reality settles in. But for those who 'see the light', life can be bright again.

You cannot EVER pick up a substance safely, and you CANNOT beat this alone.

How do you get detoxed at home?

Home detox from alcohol is extremely dangerous. Alcohol detox can cause extremely high blood pressure that can lead to strokes. It can also cause seizures and hallucinations. It should be done under medical supervision if at all possible, with supporting medication to prevent the dangerous side effects.

Please ignore information to the contrary. This writer has worked extensively in detox facilities, and he knows what he is writing about.
