Well there is basically one reason to why you lay down and can't breathe while you sleep is you nasil air ways are blocked only if you have allergies, or have a cold and it will only be temporay if you treat it right. If you don't seem to have a cold or allergies, you' ll be suggested to see your doctor and talk with them, untill then, try propping yourself up (prop your back with any pillow or anything you can lean against in your bed while you sleep) to clear your air ways through your nose becuase laying down will bring all the fluid to your head and block some things off if anything isn't right
