How many psi should your semi truck be holding in its air tanks?
The ACTUAL legal answer is that cut-out pressure should be between 115 and 130 psi, with cut-in pressure being no more than 25 psi below cut-out pressure. Now, to clear up some inaccuracies..the compressor doesn't stop working when cut out pressure is reached - most (but not all) simply go into an unloaded state. The purge of air you hear when this happens isn't the pop off valves on the tank, but rather, air coming out of the purge valve on the air dryer - the air dryer canister traps moisture and oil before it can get to the primary and secondary tanks, and air is forced through the canister to remove the moisture and oil which was collected in the canister to keep it from becoming oversaturated. The pop off valves on the tanks are not to regulate pressure in the system, but rather, to prevent the tanks from rupturing in the event that pressure regulation system fails and doesn't put the compressor into an unloaded state.
Not sure which of these two answers to go with? I'm the one who has been a truck driver, equipment operator, and holds ASE master medium/heavy duty truck technician certification.
Can you take the CDL road test in an automatic truck with air brakes?
A new (as of June 2014) Federal regulation requires states to put a "no manual transmission" restriction on the CDL of anyone who road tests in a truck that doesn't have a fully manual transmission.
There are two other new restrictions: if you road test in a vehicle that has "air over hydraulic" brakes (kinda like the power brake system in a car, but the booster chamber runs on air instead of vacuum because diesel engines have no usable vacuum) you will receive a "no air brakes" restriction, and if you road test in a combination vehicle that connects the trailer any other way than via fifth wheel you will receive a "no tractor trailer" restriction.
OTOH there is, so far as I know, no rule setting the minimum length of the trailer you must use in your road test.
* * * * *
Yes, you can. USXpress Enterprises uses automatic trucks, and hosts their own driving school. However, I would advise against this - if you're going to be driving commercial vehicles, learning how to shift an unsynchronised transmission is going to be an important skill to know, and it's a lot different than shifting in a normal passenger vehicle. If you go to take a road test for a company which uses manual shift trucks, and you're constantly grinding gears, show yourself to be unable to downshift proficiently, can't do basic gear recovery, etc., you're not going to get the job, because no company wants to hire drivers who they know will end up destroying their transmissions.

What special permit is required for commercial vehicles to transport liquor?
As freight, no special permit is required. If you want to carry any alcoholic beverage in the cab of the vehicle, there is no such permit - you may not have alcoholic beverages in a CMV, period, unless they're in the cargo area as freight and listed as such on the bill of lading.
What tools used for tightening bolts according to present torques?
To do this, you will use a torque-wrench. You don't usually torque a bolt to the present specifications, but you get the proper specification numbers out of a service manual. There is information on-line that will tell you the proper torque specifications of pretty much every bolt and nut in a vehicle. Google is your friend.
Can you limit how fast a car can go?
Yes, but it requires a NexIQ or similar control box which is substantially more expensive than someone who simply wanted to, say, limit how fast their teenage kid can drive, is willing to spend. Your best option would be to have this done by a shop.
What you're talking about is actually a very common practice with commercial vehicles.... most trucks are governed at a speed between 62 and 75 MPH (depending on the fleet).
Do you need a class a cdl to haul a triple axel trailer with an f350 in Texas?
Depends. If you have a Gross Combination Weight Rating (that's the combined Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of the truck plus that of the trailer) in excess of 26,000 lbs., with the trailer itself having a GVWR of more than 10,000 lbs. (which a tridem gooseneck will have), then yes. And that's not just Texas - that's a federal law.
Now, there are some exceptions to this, in instances where it would not be considered a commercial vehicle. If it's registered as a farm vehicle, is being used for the purposes of that farm, is operated with a 150 mile radius of the farm it's registered to, and is not operated on a third party, for hire basis, and is operated by the farmer, immediate family members of the farmer, or direct employees of the farmer (W2 employees, not 1099 contractors), a CDL is not required.
Likewise, if it's a recreational vehicle (e.g., travel trailer), a CDL is not required, so long as it's not being transported on a for-hire basis.

What color does the license number on a new jersey commercial vehicle have to be?
The numbers on a commercial vehicle have to be a "contrasting" color. They don't say WHICH color you have to use, because if they said something like "the numbers must be black" they'd have a problem because there are a lot of guys running around in black trucks. So...if the numbers are clearly visible against the side of the truck, they're fine.
How can a code saving device be connected to a vehicle?
