Did the Vietnam War contribute to the fall of communism why or why not?

The United States was not defeated in the Viet Nam War. When A nation is defeated in war it has to submit formal surrender and is forced to obey any restitution as demanded by the victor. This did not happen in the Viet Nam War. Instead, the US became tired of the war and just left with all of its guns, planes, tanks, choppers, ships and men (at least the ones that were left).

Noone can say for sure what the impact of the US was in Viet Nam, but if communism had been allowed to move in without have to expend so much effort and resources maybe it could have been much worse. Maybe it would not have mattered. Who can say for sure.

As to whether we could have won, well maybe. We restrained our use of force greatly and maybe for the best. Once again who knows...and who really cares? It cannot be proven either way.

It really does seem like a wasted time period in American history. What positive came from it? Not much. It is bizarre that there was a kind of parallel world in the US at the time that was putting people on the moon. One thing is for sure, in the case of things like war it will definitely happen again...and again...and again. It is our nature. Maybe you or your grandkids will oneday be able to tell people you were there when the mushrrom clouds filled the horizon. How special. What can one do, people are a-holes who like to see what is on the inside of each other.

Who is responsible for problems in communism?

The problem with communism is that it is far too idealistic for humanity to properly run a government in such a way. Communism assumes that all people work together to create a better nation, but some individuals will inherently attempt to have a better life for themselves by cheating the communist system. Without the competition of capitalism, crime will not really decrease, it will just become impossible to control. No one person is responsible for the flaws of communism, the ideal is just too unrealistic for pure communism to ever exist

That's a very open question. In theory anybody who is a Fascist Capitalist or Right winger is an enemy to Communism. Communisms stated goal is one world socialist republic. It is a class war. The have nots (Proletarian) against the Haves (Capitalist). But if you want to know the true and only enemy to communism go to. To the extent that Communists prevent or proscribe the right of the people to the free exercise of their religion, or other human rights, the Catholic Church is an enemy of those features of the Communist regime.

Who was the Communist Party General Secretary that took control of russia after the death of Vladimir Lenin?

Nikita Khrushchev became the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union after Stalin died. The General Secretary's position was the real seat of power in the Soviet Union at the time. In that sense only can it be logically said that Khrushchev "lead communism" after Stalin died. It would be incorrect to say that he "lead communism," because "communism" existed in several other countries and neither Stalin nor Khrushchev lead those countries. One could say that Nikita Khrushchev lead communism in the Soviet Union in particular, but not that he lead communism in general.

Why did Lenin have to change the economic ideas of communism?

Pragmatism: the old ideas weren't working. For example, war communism was fine when war was happening, but as soon as peace strikes, it is very much a backward step.

How does a communist country make money?

By taking from the rich until the country has all the wealth.

A communist country does not make money, it feeds on the labor of its people. It does not need to make money because there are only a few countries that will sell them anything. So forget about imported goods.

Because a communist government owns all businesses, banks, hospitals, farms, schools, etc. They may take as much wealth as they like because it is to help the people (victims).

The citizens work just hard enough not to be punished (or worse). Good news though, no more performance reviews!-because there will be no raises.

Keep them hungry so that the everyone depends on the government.

Government holds all wealth except what people can hide from them.

Who did Stalin purge from the Soviet communist party and the military?

The Great Purge from 1934 to 1940 was used to effectively remove dissenters of the Communist Party from leadership, government office, and the military. Several millions of people were detained with an average of 1,000 being executed a day during the most violent years.

These acts of terror and the goal of total power by Stalin is one of many reasons that Stalin's body was removed from the tomb with Lenin in Moscow.

Why communism is bad?

Communism isn't bad. Read a book about it (by an author FROM a Communist country, since all American books about it are propaganda aimed at making it seem so bad).

Books written by communist in communist countries and not the people who envy it in America were books that were approved by censorship boards to brainwash the rest of the world.

One reason Americans don't like communist is because they were pointing nukes at us for several decades.

Communism on paper is good, Communism in real life is bad because it doesn't work.

One of five things needs to happen for a successful communist country to exist.

1. We must all be replaced by worker Ants

2. We must all be replaced by worker Bees

3. We must all be replaced by worker Termites

4. We must all be replaced by worker Robots

5. Our souls must be sucked out and our instincts to better ourselves must be erased

Communism takes away the incentives to work and often drives the quality of life down along with the length of life. Corrupt communist takes any wealth from the people and gives it to the people in charge.

People in Cuba live under oppressive rule and hundreds every year build boats out of refrigerators and other junk to get to the "democratic" America hundreds of miles away in shark infested water. (Many just die out in the ocean to escape that wonderful utopia called Cuba)

They don't like Communism and neither did the Ukrainians who were starved to death by Russia for voicing their opinions and cultural identity, or the Chinese farmers killed by Mao who replace god, or the other Cubans who were killed by the coward Castro or the racist and sadist Che. (Che would write a lot in his diary about when he shot people in the head, Castro refused trials for people he executed)

"Communism isn't bad. Read a book about it (by an author FROM a Communist country, since all American books about it are propaganda aimed at making it seem so bad). "

I've heard everything about Communism from my mother's side of the family, who is not in anyway whatsoever propagandized and has experienced Communist China. Millions of people died under communist rule.

Communism makes you beholden to the state and kills all individuality. Thus efficacy goes down and people are controlled under one boring, inefficacy one sided way of thinking. It limits human potential. If everything is owned and run by the state then its the state the chooses everything and have all the capabilities, thus leaving every individual defenseless or unable to fend for themselves.
