As far as I know, there is no comprehensive source for an answer. The best starting point is probably 'The encyclopedia of Typefaces' (Turner Berry, Jaspert & Johnson, 4th Edn, Blandford, 1970), which covers the major 20th century Western European and American typefaces. Nicolette Gray's 'Nineteenth Century Ornamented Typefaces' (Faber & Faber, 1976) extends the coverage, and 'Printing Types' by D B Updike (OUP, 1962) goes further back, covering types from the start of letterpress.

However, all these are limited, the first and last concentrating on the more typographically acceptable or well-known examples (they had to draw a line somewhere), and omit many lesser commercial faces, particularly in the 19th century.

Also, many faces were copied or pirated, and many issued under different names by different founders. The catalogues issued by typefounders are mostly rare, and those available are usually from the better-known firms. Access to these is really only possible at specialist libraries, such as St.Bride Institute in Fleet Street, London.

AutoCadd, a computer aided drafting software, is used for drafting of floor plans, sections, elevations and 3d generation. But I personally reccommend using AutoCadd for floor plans only and using other cadd softwares for 3d generation because its much easier. 3d generation in Autocadd is quite confusing for beginners.

In 1959 Boeing was awarded the X-20 (Dyna Soar) contract. One of the sub-contractors was North American Aviation. They were using a computing system called "Master Dimensions" on the IBM 704 for aiding in the design of the X-20. Boeing established a group called "Master Dimensions" in order to maintain compatibility with this major sub-contractor. I am aware of this because a member of my "Numerical Control" group was assigned to head up the new group. In that same period North American Aviation, I believe, was taking steps to interface the "Master Dimensions" system with the APT (Automatically Programmed Tool) system. As I recall Roy Limming worked at North American in those days. He may well be one of the first, if not the first, to introduce computer aided design into the work place. I had gone on to other computing assignments when "CAD/CAM" became the name for what we had called "numerical control" and "master dimensions". Both North American and Boeing archives may be a good place to start on this subject.

There are many ways to find the area of a triangle depending on what information you have

Area = 1/2 x Base x Perpendicular Height

Area = 1/2 x Side 1 x Side 2 x sine(angle between those two sides)

There are many more if anyone cares to add them but these are the most commonly used ones

Given sides of lengths a, b and c (no angles), let s = (a+b+c)/2

A weapons system engineer is a person who designs weapons systems or builds weapons systems. A weapons system may refer to a trigger assembly of a gun or a gun alltogether. For example the M4 is a weapon system. These engineers have designed barrel replacements, upper and lower register replacements and other modifications to make the gun better. Look at the AR-15. A bunch of weapons engineers made that together. Then on top of that made different modifications to give you the M4, M16, and other rifles. A weapons system engineer may have modified the M4 to give you the M4-A1, and so on.

Upstream and downstream systems are business terms that apply to the production process. The search for and extraction of raw materials refers to upstream. When these materials are processed refers to the downstream.

AutoCAD may include tabular information that already exists in an Excel-based spreadsheet. It is often used to import tables such as wire schedules (electrical), metes and bounds (civil), etc.

This would require parsing, and is very language specific. The manual method would involve determining how long the comment was and then reading every single character and comparing it to the desired character until it is found (or not found). Many programming languages have methods used to locate a character or set of characters within a string, but this is very language specific.

As of AutoCAD 2012, Windows 7 is not required. In addition to Windows 7, AutoCAD also supports Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Never mind, well I figured it out, this was me just being really dumb. Instead of selecting to export as a JPEG I selected to export as original. well to be exact it was preselected and I just didn't notice. I went through a lot to try and fix this too...

It allows designers to create designs in a few hours that would have taken days to draw by hand. Some CAD programs can test 3D models to see if they run properly so that a real working model becomes unnecessary.
