Why would a computer recognize an agp card as a pci card?

Because it most likely is. AGP, stands for Accelerated Graphics Processor (loosely) If you can put a modem in that slot it would most likely be PCI.

The card must be PCI. AGP and PCI cards are physically different. The connections to the motherboard are not identical or interchangeable. The PCI card is located more to the back of the case or board, while the AGP card slots are away from the edge and noticeably more towards the center of the motherboard.

---

This is a common issue for AGP graphics cards if you are using an ATI chipset (for example: Radeon), or an ASUS chipset (for example: x800). Though I have not yet found the solution for this error, it does not seem to cause any major issues for Windows XP systems, so long as you maintain your Windows Updates.

It is also common for ATI / ASUS AGP graphics cards to report "echoes" - a PCI card that is "also installed" from your AGP socket. If this is the case, there may be issues with your motherboard or BIOS reporting incorrectly. Seek your computer manufacturer for technical assistance if this is the case.

What permits do you need to start a computer refurbishing business?

It depends on your area. At the minimum, you will need a general business license and a retail license. There may not be a specific license, so they may list it as a "musical instruments" business permit. The best thing to do is visit your local tax office and ask them.

You also need to see if you are properly zoned. Depending on the extent of PC work you do and the types of equipment you handle, you could be zoned anywhere between general business and light industrial. When they rezone an area, they sometimes make mistakes. They may rezone according to current usage and miss certain details, and if they rezone to the wrong class, you might find you are in violation later. The thing there is if you have a lot of parts outside or a lot of things they may consider hazardous materials (like a whole bunch of CRT monitors), you might need to be zoned as light industrial. So you may want to ask at City Hall or the zoning board as well.

Why do Computers sometimes make Whirring Noises?

It's normal most of the time.

Disc drive on mac is broken can it be fixed?

I assume when you say broken you just cannot access it. To answer your question there are a couple of things you can do but just saying it is broken, need more details. Repost your questions and give the exact symptons when you start up your computer. The easy answer is no, need to buy a new hard drive and install it, then re-install the operating system. Why is port 1050 on my computer open?

I can think of two possibilities. I assume since you are asking specifically about Port 1050, that you have a software firewall or a NAT based firewall.

Taking a leap into the darkness, is your router by any chance the Netcomm NB5Plus4W as that has a manufacturing defect that causes the port to be open. See the guide guide for port forwarding to close your port if this is your router.

http://randompastime.blogspot.com/2010/01/netcomm-nb5plus4w-router-port-1050-open.html

It could be malware opening up your port or it could be your firewall.

How long will an unopened ink cartridge last ie I can get a better deal on a 2 pack but can an unopened one last years and still be good?

Off the top of my head I am not aware of printer ink going bad like food. However I would still give the box a once over for any information related to the topic. If there is nothing printed as far as a "use by date" then go ahead and purchase it. If you plan to go more than a year and a half before initial use keep it in a dark cool place. If you go to use it and it does not work call the manufacturer and tell them you want a replacement. There was no use by date and you kept it in a dry cool place.

Hope this helps!
