What provides power to the different parts othe the computer at the right voltage?
If your asking this question i would suggest not opening your computer up and taking it to a shop. But the power supply has several conncetions coming from the back side which are plugged into the different components, many components receive power directly from the motherboard aswell.
What file types can only be run by quicktime or Realplayer?
RealPlayer can play:
RM, RA, Ram, RT, RP, PNG, Gif, JPG, MP3, SWF, SMIL, SMI, WAV, AIFF, MPG, MPEG, AVI, ASF, MID, MIDI, RMI.
Quicktime can play all these plus many more. I would never recommend RealPlayer to anyone and never use it. I use Quicktime.

Any type of memory can be considered "tall" memory. This just relates to the physical dimensions of the memory module. So it is higher from the motherboard than similar memory modules. The main concern here is the heat sink for the CPU. When larger CPU heat sinks are used, they often cover the memory modules, so you would need memory that will fit under the heat sink. If there isn't enough clearance, then you cannot use both that heat sink and the tall memory modules.

However, in my Experience, some Programs use My Documents for APPDATA. an example of this, is a game that stores screenshots, and save data to be used in game. i recommend you try to identify those programs, if any first.
What causes file system errors?

Hotfix files can be removed but not recommended in case something happens in a new update and have to revert to an older update. Many of the Hotfix files/programs can be found in the add/remove programs list. From there you should be able to delete them. The files also like to hang out on other places within windows so you need need to do a file search to find them all.
