Why are microwaves metal?

microwaves are metal because metal reflects microwave energy so you get the waves bouncing around the box. The bouncing waves make the food inside the microwaves warm.

What is the capital of Saba?

Saba's administrative centre is 'The Bottom', but the Netherlands has taken the posistion none of the Antilles can legally separate from the Netherlands.

How many leads does a transistor have?

It depends on the transistor type, its purpose and use. The common npn or pnp transistor usually has three leads. Fet's and others usually have three to four (should there be a metal case, sometimes a lead is provided for a ground connection for the purposes of shielding), and sometimes, extra leads that are tied to the same point inside the transistor, just to make circuit board design a lot easier or to provide more than one access point for additional circuitry. It's also possible to use some of the leads for additional heat sinking at the internal junction, especially if it's used in R.F. design. On the average, three leads, but some could have more.

How do you calibrate single phase energy meter by phantom loading?

The phantom loading is that no external load is connected in actual sense and the current and pressure coils are connected seperatly so that it will consume only less power. In this connection the voltage across pressure coil will be supply voltage even if the variac is in minimum position. CONNECTION Connect a single phase supply through a single phase variac. Connect the currect coil of wattmeter M and energy meter c1 and an ammeter in series to phase terminal of singlephase variac. The pressure coil of both wattmeter and energymeter should be shorted and connected to phase of supply (not to the variac). The terminal V of wattmeter and p2, c2 of energy meter should be connected to neutral terminal of variac. PROCEDURE Keeping the variac in minimum position and switch on supply. Adjust the variac to get different reading in ammeter and note the time for 5 Revolution of energy meter disc and obtain the wattmeter reading. FORMULAE %error = (R.E - A.E)*100/A.E , WHERE, R.E is the recorded energy = n/N (n=5 & N=energymeter const.) A.E is the actual energy A.E= (wattmeter reading*time)/(3600*1000) while plotting a error graph it will be having a zig-zag shape. Normally the error can be upto 10%. What does a microwave leak detector detect?

A microwave leak detector actually detects microwave electromagnetic energy. There are a number of different types, and it might be best to touch on them before finishing up.

One way to divide microwave leak detectors is by the "quality" of the insturment. There are a number of "cheapie" units that will give an indication of leakage, and then there are the really expensive survey meters that cost hundreds of dollars and should be calibrated at least annually. Both respond to microwave energy, and you can see where this is going.

If you suspect a leak in an oven, it is best to call and ask about a "professional" checkup. It's cheaper to take a machine in than to have someone come by, but for builtin units, you don't have much choice. Make a call and ask a few questions to see what can be done and for how much.

Will using a Pentax AF240z flash gun on a digital Pentax 1st dl camera cause damage?

it should be fine, the pentax240z flash trigger voltage has been measured at 4.8v

I couldn't find the limit for the hotshoe voltage, but it is most likely very high.

(Canons tend to be low like around 6volts max. my Kodak is 400volts max).

How do theft detectors in stores sense unpaid items?

The most common way now is with a radio tag. It is a tag, sometimes hidden in the package, that sends out a weak signal. If the tag is not turned off at the checkout, it will be picked up by the reader at the front door, and the alarm will go off. When you purchase the item, the salesperson will drag it over a piece of equipment that neutralizes the tag. Sometimes you can hear a noise as it is done and sometimes it is silent.

A common misconception about anti-theft devices is that they are able to detect barcodes on stolen items. This is untrue. Unless the item has a magnetic or radio tag on it, the item will not be detected by the device.

What is the proper way to disassemble and reassemble an Iver Johnson revolver for cleaning and what do you do when old part or stripped screws refuse to budge?

It depends which model you are talking about. The break open type, you break open then look for a small flat spring in the frame in front of the cylinder in line with the axis pin of cylinder this is a spring catch, press into frame and pull cylinder off axis rod. Be careful to watch for another flat spring in the axis rod, this is friction spring for cylinder, do not overlook or lose! The screws in the frames of all models, if the screw does not move, lubricate with a penatrating oil( the very best is KROIL by Kano labs,) strike head of screw with small hammer with light blows and get screwdriver that fits the screws VERY CLOSE, apply down pressure and turn(all screws are right hand threads) if not successful then screws have to drilled out and replaced. These handguns are very simple and OLD. Parts are hard to find some are not to be found. A drawing for some models are on the web at gunpartscorp.com. Good Luck!

How-to check 6o cycle hertz meter?

Hertz is the unit for 1 cycle per second.

So you should know the diameter and how long it takes for 1 cycle.

How can you get a user booklet for a durabrand DBVT1341?

chance are that if there's any chance of finding a uder's manual, you need to go to the Durabrand website and find the manual you need.

If that fails and they don't have a website, you just might want to use a good search engine like Google and just type in the model mumber of your piece of equipment. don't use parenthesis or anything like that. I wouldn't even type the letters in caps either. IF there's anything out there, you should get several returns and then you can choose what you'd like to find.

Why are caves important?

See.. im not TOO sure. But i guess it is because in India there are really amazing sculptures carved out of cave walls/rocks. Secondly, glacier caves are really beautiful. Its dark and lonely in most caves but you might as well find many bats. Its their habitat. Also, of course, home to many microorganisms. They provide us with adventure, pleasure and entertainment. I guess, these are probably the reasons.. They were home to many prehistoric cavemen also. They are still used sometimes in India as shelters for hermits and religious people. Also, they could be used to make temples.. :) Hope this helped. ++++++ It's a start! All-natural caves in limestone, and lava-tubes, can be beautiful too, and very many are - without anyone carving their walls, too! it's dark and lonely in ALL caves unless you explore them properly, in a team and all equipped with proper lamps! The darkness beyond any penetrating daylight is absolute. caves are also important for carrying water from the hills where it fell as rain to springs - but this is also true of aquifers. Caves can also provide scientific evidence in research into palaeoclimates. to help understand long-term climate change. And they are scientifically fascinating in their own right.

Why is the number 10 an important number?

Will someone message you?

Twitter users often message each other. This can be done by tweeting "@username", or via direct message. However, that does not mean that you will receive a message; ultimately, the answer to your question is just "possibly"

What is the total harmonic distortion of a Bose stereo system?

Harmonic distortion belongs to all amplifiers, loudspeakers and simply all electrical equipment you use. When it comes to audio, the only effect you will hear is a constant resonant low noise if the speakers aren't good at handling harmonic distortion. None of the Bose speakers I have tested so far produce that noise, so you don't have to worry about that.

I recently bought a croc turboion hair straightener and while traveling to Europe plugged it in without using a device to switch the voltage Now it will not go over 86 degrees and reads error1?

Because you did not use the voltage switch in Europe you damaged the voltage regulator in the hair straightener. Unlike CD players, and other small electronics (which will not turn on if the adaptor or DC input is incorrect) direct to plug appliances will turn on and over-load or short out. Because your straightener only reaches 86 degrees it is safe to say you over loaded it with 220volts (or more). Because all United States plugs are no higher than 120volts you damaged it by overloading it with at least 100 extra volts.

Bottom line, buy a new one, you won't be able to get this one fixed.

What is an example of frequency?

Frequency can be found in sound, light, and line current. An example of frequency is, the frequency wave of light will determine what color the light is.
