Can you make milk out of just grass without using livestock?
~-~-~ Whoever says that you can't make custard without milk because it will taste bad obviously hasn't tried it for themselves :) I doubt making fresh custard without milk would taste very nice (I am yet to try that method), but I do frequently prepare dry custard using water to cut down on calories. However, when making the "paste" in the beginning, I use a splash of milk (I'd say 50ml or so of skinny/low-fat milk out of every cup of liquid required) rather than water which I've found helps to add at least a bit of creaminess to the dessert and prevent lumps. Mix it until smooth before topping up with water and cooking as usual. It still doesn't taste as rich as it does when made with milk, but it satisfies my cravings so I definitely wouldn't call it a fail recipe! I make mine in the microwave and use a little over a tablespoon of powder for every cup of water. It bubbles up surprisingly high, so use a bigger bowl than you'd think you'd need and pop that on top of a plate for easy clean-up if yours happens to bubble over. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute before whisking briefly and microwaving again for a further 4 minutes or so in 1-minute bursts. It begins to want to bubble up from this point, so keep a constant eye on it if you're using a small bowl. There isn't really a set time for how long it takes to cook as this depends on your microwave settings, but mine is an old 800w piece of junk and it only takes about 5 minutes in total! Lastly, I like to add in sugar/Splenda and vanilla (optional) after it's cooked rather than before. Enjoy! ~-~-~
Do grass fed cows produce more nutritional milk?

What is hormonal control in milk synthesis in cows?
There are two hormones involved in the synthesis and release of milk: prolactin and oxytocin. Both are produced in a pea-sized gland attached to the base of the brain called the pituitary gland, and carried to the breasts by the blood. Prolactin is produced by the anterior(front part) of the pituitary gland. It stimulates the cells in the breasts to synthesise milk. Prolactin synthesis is stimulated by several minutes of the infant sucking at the breast. Oxytocin is synthesised by the posterior (rear part) of the pitutary gland. It stimulates the release of the milk from the breast (also called milk 'let down'). Oxytocin production is also stimulated by suckling at the breast. Are cows kept pregnant all the time to give milk?
Cows neither produce milk all the time, nor do they only produce milk when they are pregnant. In general, cows begin to produce milk when they give birth and will continue to do so until they are "dried-off", which happens when their calf is weaned (beef cows) or when the farmer stops milking them (dairy cows). For most cows, milk production increases until about 90 days after they give birth, and then slowly declines during the rest of the lactation. If a dairy cow is re-bred successfully at 60-90 days following calving, she will usually be "dried-off" after a lactation of about 305 days so that her mammary gland has a chance to re-charge for a couple months before she gives birth to another calf. (A cow's gestation period is about 280 days.) Some cows that do not re-breed can be milked continuously for 2-3 years, but production declines sufficiently over time that this is not usually economically feasible. Consequently, cows with fertility problems get culled from the herd. More input from WikiAnswers Contributors: * Only when pregnant like other mammels....except they keep getting milked in the farms which means that their bodies will continue to produce it as long as it is being used. Milk doesn't know that it is going into a jug and into a store or the difference between that and if a calf is drinking it. Viola. * Some cows from strong milk lines (most commonly in JERSEY and HOLSTEIN breeds) young cows can and do produce milk without being pregnant. This is called Spontaneous Lactation, Virgin Lactation or Maiden Milk. This also happens with Dairy Goats such as Nubian and LaMancha breeds.
How do you obtain milk from a cow in junk jack x?
Milk cows first have to be either tied up in their stall or in a stanchion or some form of holding pen where they cannot turn around on you. Make sure she is calm before you start, as oxytocin is only activated and released in her system when she is relaxed.
Second step is dip all the teats in a cup of iodine to cleans the teats and destroy any bacteria. Iodine always helps clean the teats if you wipe them with a towel. Often this wiping process stimulates milk let-down. This may also initiate her to kick you, and if she does then hobble her. Then grab a bucket and place it under the udder to catch the milk streaming out. Or, grab the milk machine, make sure the vacuum pumps are working proper and that everything is hooked up where it should be, then place each of the four milk collector-tubes onto the teats so that the female-end of the tubes are right snug with the udder.
But, if you are milking her to by hand, grab one teat in each hand and with your thumb and two forefingers pull down on the teat and squeeze when you reach near the end. It's better to do one hand at a time instead of both at a time, so you can get a rhythm going. Continue until you can't get any more milk out of her.

Where can you buy goats milk powder?
I would look for 'natural food stores' or 'consumer co-ops' in your area. If that doesn't work try asking an allergy doctor or naturopath (or anyone who practices natural medicine) - they probably have patients that are allergic to cow's milk.
If that doesn't work you might call a local veterinarian or a 4H club in area (a club to help young people learn how to raise animals).
Milk contains a protein called casein. This protein gives milk its characteristic white colour. It is of high nutritional value because it contains all the essential amino acids required by man's body. The curd forms because of the chemical reaction between lactic acid bacteria and casein. When curd is added to milk, the lactic acid bacteria present in it cause coagulation of casein and thus convert it into curd.
Man has been using curd for a long time. It is very useful for stomach ailments. It keeps the
digestive system in good order. In the ancient times curd was sold as a medicine. Curd bacteria clean the intestinal system. According to some experts the regular consumption of curd keeps the stomach free from ailments. Curd is used in different ways by different people. Some use it with a little of salt while others use it with sugar. In Bengal, sugar is added to milk before converting it into curd. This is sold as sweet curd and called as "Shri Khand" in Madhya Pradesh.

give me 5 dollars and then I'll give you a dollar back and tell you that it's half of 5 and run off giddy as a little girl
This is actually more of a riddle, involving two different number systems. The first is actually spelling out 5.
FIVE
Now take away HALF the letters, specifially the F and E. That leaves you with IV which in roman numerals is 4! So, half of 5 is four!

Just keep it alive. My baby mouse I found in the garage died today. I cried for about an hour.
Master Chaos Demon: Also, DO NOT feed them any form of puppy or kitten milk. The same goes for baby squirrels. They CAN NOT digest it. I've had this happen to me before. I tried feeding esbilac (a type of puppy formula) and soy milk. Both animals died. The best form of formula to feed an infant mouse if they still need a formula, is a form of goat's milk. It is the easiest to digest. Cheese is fine for them if in moderation. That's what my sister gave her pet fancy rat as a treat. She was able to train him to do tricks and stuff.
You can give a rat milk but I do not recomend this as I have been told by the Vet I use for my 4 mice that mice and rats cannot digest milk properly and that the best liquid for them is water and only water as this rehydrates them properly.
What is the Proper contaminated waste disposal?
In healthcare, waste disposal procedures differ somewhat depending on whether the patient lives at home or in an institution (hospital / nursing home) and whether there is currently an infection as well.
Home Waste Disposal
Common sense measures usually prevail when a person is at home. For examples, patients should place used tissues in a waste basket. Washcloths, towels, and bedding should be laid flat if wet to prevent mildew, and laundered in warm to hot water. Garbage should be placed in containers (with well-fitting lids) outside the house until trash pick-up. A diabetic should use a sharps container for needle disposal; most County Health Departments can arrange for disposal of a sharps container as medical waste.
Personnel should use proper handwashing and gloving, especially when handling anything contaminated with human waste or blood. Double-bag old dressings, etc. If there is an acute infection or infected wound, all persons should use sterile dressing techniques (mask, gown, glove) and double-bag all used items for the trash.
Hospitals, Nursing Homes
Again, common sense measures come first: handwashing, using gloves, etc. Personnel should know the proper way to remove used gloves. All used items should be immediately put in the trash or sent for laundering. Some institutions still use auto-claves to sterilize tools but most places use individual packs that can hold used items before being put in the trash. Most trash placement for equipment (disposable tweezers, scissors, etc) is placed in a separate room, not at bedside.

Can human drink a boiled milk of cow infected by rabies can human have infected by diseases?
Theoretically Rabies virus can be transmitted through milk but the viability and infectivity of the virus is less than the virus shed through the saliva and through the bite of the rabid animal. Moreover, virus is heat labile and can be inactivated by the temperature even below the pasterurisation temperature and this property of the virus does not pose risk to the personnel consuming pasteurised milk or boiled milk.

Why did the cow give only butermilk?
Riddle answer: What else can she give but her milk?
Full cream milk is naturally produced by all mammals (there are exceptions were the milk is extra creamy - whales and dolphins being a case in point). Butter milk is actually the watery milky remains after solid butter has been produced.
