What does it mean when the air conditioning light blinks?

It is possible thay the switch on the bottom of the air conditionerAC HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH is the culpret maby the wires are touching each other,or the switch is bad .Another thing to cheak that could give ANYONE big problem is the white wire that goes through the engine firewall to the lower right side kick panel fuse under the dash, there is a GREY CONNECTOR underneath the hood passenger side against the firewall (WHITE WIRE) make sure it isn't melted or burnt up. Pull it apart and make sure the GREY CONNECTOR is in good shape and it has a good connect. Its the wire that powers the relays."this one is difficult to discover without doing a visual inspection.because it acts like a perfectly good circut until you pull it apart and find out it has heated up brittle and dosent not supply correct voltage when under load.I am not implying you have a bad circut just adding some more information for other people who have a difficult time figuring out whats going on in this circut this is a good place to start you troubleshooting at this GREY CONNECTOR with the white wire just underneath the winsheild wiper motor going through the firewall.

Where is the upstream o2 sensor on a 97 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD 3.8?

Upstream O2 sensor location 97 CaravanIt's right behind the engine, in/on the top of the exhaust pipe just before it exits the engine compartment near the firewall. You can see/access it from under the hood without a lot of difficulty. It looks like a big hex head bolt with wires protruding from it that run abot 5 inches to a gray rectangular moldex connector.

^^

This isn't true as it's not possible to see / reach behind the engine on a 1997 Caravan from the hood. It's possible the visualize the sensor from the top, but not easily, and you certainly cannot 'access' it without removing a number of parts. The upstream O2 sensor must be reached from underneath the vehicle by following the exhaust up. It's not the easily-seen one just dangling down under the car. Follow the pipe on which that one is located, up about 2 feet, and the sensor will be up there, mounted on top of the exhaust manifold where it's difficult to visualize. The wire is less than a foot long and you can also see the plastic clip from this angle.

How do you change an alternator on a Dodge Grand Caravan?

For my 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.3L

The most important point here is that on a 3.3L engine it has to come out underneath. The main secret the store manuals don't tell you is that you have to remove the one bolt that holds the flexible rubber exhaust clamp to the middle of the body underneath; you can now push on the exhaust in the middle and this will allow it to flex over enough to barely be able to remove the alternator between the body and the exhaust. As an additional measure for removal room, i removed the three metal nuts that hold the catalytic converter heat shield in place under the passenger floor pan. Everything else is pretty standard; remove battery cable, take off wire connectors, use breaker bar with socket to unload tension on serpentine belt pulley & belt comes right off, two bolts from underneath for metal guard, lastly two bolts for the alternator. Just a final tip, make sure to use the new nuts that come with the rebuilt alternator & be very careful not to over tighten the wire connections; unfortunately, I've found the replacement metals they use are softer than the original and it takes nothing to twist off a connector, especially an old dirty nut reused.

How do you fix a parasitic battery draw on a 1999 dodge grand caravan?

only way to fix that problem, is to find out what is drawing the power. This can be caused by an accesory that doesnt not shut power off when ignition is shut off, or by a short in the wiring in the vehicle somewherehave the starter motor checked for a short as well, as some starters when worn will draw enuff power to drain battery, but not enuff to turn starter, when ignition is off.

What do you do when your radio is not working after a battery change in a 2001 dodge grand caravan es?

Assuming the radio was working before the battery was changed, the first place to look is in the fuse panel. There is a fuse specifically for the radio. Test the fuse using a 12 volt test lamp, available at most auto parts store for less than $10. Connect the cord to any bare metal surface that is bonded to the car chassis. Verify the test lamp is ready for testing by touching the pointed probe to a circuit that you know has power, such as the base of the cigarette / mobile power outlet. Warning! Do NOT touch the base and the side of the outlet with the probe at the same time, or you will blow the fuse for this circuit! On the face of the RADIO fuse there are two metal tips sticking out. Touch the test lamp to each of the tips. If the lamp lights at both points, the circuit has power and the fuse is good. If the lamp only lights on one side, the fuse is blown. Replace this fuse with the same size (color) fuse and retest the radio operation. If it operates and continues to operate, your fix is complete. If the fuse should blow again, it is because there is too much electrical current being drawn by some device fed by the fuse. You can isolate the offending device by disconnecting them all from the wiring harness and then with a good fuse installed, re-install them one by one until the fuse blows again. The last thing connected before the fuse blows is most likely the problem. If the test lamp does not light on either tip, you have an open circuit in the power feeding to the RADIO fuse. At this point, you have verified power to the radio wire harness. If you still cannot restore radio operation, I recommend you take your vehicle to a stereo shop that can test the radio itself and install a replacement if you should decide to go that route.

How do you change a starter on a 1986 Chevy Celebrity 2.5l?

To change the starter on a Chevy Celebrity with 2.5L engine:

1. Disconnect the battery ground wire. Use gloves to avoid getting acid on your skin.

2. Raise the front of the car to a suitable height for you to work under it. Use suitable blocks for the rear wheels, and put jack stands under the front.

3. Disconnect the wires from the starter solenoid. Take note of where each wire was so you can put them back correctly.

4. If there is a rear brace on the starter remove it.

5. Remove the two bolts that hold the starter to the block. If there are any shims between the starter and the block save them to put on the replacement starter.

6. At this point the starter should easily pull out of the block. It is a little on the heavy side so don't let it fall on you.

Re-installation is the reverse. Be sure to put any shims back in place.
