I'm not fully sure about the 86 year/model, but I did have an 86 Corrola and there were 4 screws mounted 2 at the top corners of the faceplate and 2 inside where the ash tray is located. I own a '92 celica and you first have to pull/un-snap the cover around the shifter. Then you remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the coverplate around the radio (it's at the crux of the radio coverplate and the shifter coverplate). Once you remove those 2 screws, the rest snaps out easily.

Hello, Can't think of ideas of how you can break you're cruise Control repair, but the best thing to do is go to B and B (body and paint Fire Stone. Excedrea excedera) and see if they can repair the cruise control button and that's the easiest way to go but if the cruise control is really broken you might want to swap out the steering wheel

To remove stud: Hit it with a hammer. It will pop out. Don't be afraid to hit it fairly hard.
To install: Grease the threads of the new stud. Set the stud approximately in place. Grease three flat washers and a new nut. Put on first the three washers, then the nut. Use an impact wrench to tighten the nut until it draws the stud into place. Remove and discard the nut and three washers. Clean off the grease. But the brakes and wheel back on. Use another new lug nut.

order a new regulor with motor on the internet. it should not cost anymore than 65$ then take car to auto window shop they should charge no more than $80 to install it.
the regulator with motor will cost about $400 at a dealer and over a hundred.
I have had to replace the regulator on all 4 doors in the last 2 yrs.
