How to change vacuum pump on 1999 dodge cummins diesel 5.9 liter?

its very easy. just unbolt it form the crankcase. those are the two biggest bolts. Then it will fall out and you can twist it around and get to the other 4 bolts that will separate it from the power steering pump. Order your seal kit(10 dollars from cummins) and follow the instructions. When you put it back together there is a close tolerance so if you crank down on it when it isn't exactly straight it will break the cast aluminum housing and youll have to buy a new vacuum pump. Get those tight then bolt her all back up with the new gasket for the crankcase and there you go, ready to role the coal.

Will stock dodge ram wheels from 2003 or 2004 fit a 1999 ram?

The answer is yes. When I bought my 2004 ram I took the rims off of it and tried them on my 2001 which I also had at the time to see how they looked on it. The 04 rims fit the 01 Ram no problem. The answer is NO. I found out the hard way the the 20" rims from a 2003 or new Ram will NOT fit a 99 Ram. After several hours of driving from shop to shop trying to figure out why the wheels seems extremely out of balance on my 99 Ram the guys at NTB finally figured out the problem. Although the 2001 Ram have the same body style ad the 99, they do NOT have the same wheel hubs. The 2001 wheel hubs are the same as the 2003 or newer hubs. I belive they converted from standard to metric. This change made the diameter of the center circle of the newer wheels smaller than the center cone on the hub of the 99 Ram. I don't know about any other year but I do know from personal experieance that the newer rims do NOT fit a 99 Ram. I may try filing the center hole on the rims to make it fit. I'll let you know if it works.

Where can you find a replacement hazard switch for a dodge raider?

Hello -

I have an 1987 Dodge Raider. The wires in the wire harnesses to the hazard switch had been eaten by mice.

I bought a new switch from a dealer (Mitsubishi dealer). Or you could get one from a junkyard. You will have to call around.

To loosen the instrument panel yo unscrew two ? screws on its underside. The hazard switch simply can be pried out with a small flat screwdriver.

Since the wires coming into the coupler were bad in both directions I had to cut out the couplers and then connect the wires together one by one. Tedious but not hard. I'd recommend using male-female quick release couplers instead o butt connector. Get a small wire cutting/striping tool - a large one will be difficult (but not impossible) to use. Don't forget the electrical tape. I had to use a magnifying glass to be certain what the colors of the wires were because they fade with time.

The part new cost about$100US.

What years were the 318 available in dodge products?

In 1967, the new 318 came along. Chrysler actually made three basic versions of the 318: the first, polyspherical-head version in the 1960s - the second, LA family in the late 1960s and through to the late 1980s/early 1990s - and the final Magnum family, which is still in production for light trucks and Jeeps.

Why is a 1989 Dodge Daytona turning over but gas is not coming out of the injectors?

I'm far from a mechanic but I would say it's probly cause your fuel pump has failed... If your fuel pump is working you should hear it turn on as your turning the ignition on.... it will be a short hmmmmmmmm type noise..... Or the fuel relay could be bad as well take a wire running from the pos battery terminal to the pos wire on the coil.. have a friend listen in the back of the car the fuel pump should prime itself if it primes then the relay could be the problem the relay your looking for is on the drivers side next to the computer its the one that has a green wire with a black stripe

Or check to see if the ground wire on your injector harness is broken or grounded properly

Or faulty injectors...to check them pull the fuel rail off the engine leaving the harness still plugged in have someone turn the ignition they will make a clicking noise

How to Replace 5.9 dodge diesel oil pressure switch?

You will need to go to your local parts store and make sure to get the correct oil pressure switch or if you have a local Cummins dealer you can ask them. I got mine there for a third of the lowest price. It is located on the drivers side of the motor and is be hind some electrical connections so it is hard to see. It is closer to the front of the motor. It takes either a 1 1/4 inch or 1 1/6 inch socket. Make sure and get it tight as to not have a leak but not over tighten and strip. Also MAKE SURE AND GET THE RIGHT SWITCH. If you get the wrong switch or the some of the single lines you may have to reprogram your ECM. If you are not experienced DONT TRY THIS. If you aretalking about the axle shaft between the wheel and differential on the front first loosen the lug nuts on either side that need to be removed. the jack the truck up and support with jack stands. Remove the tire and the brake calipers. Then using a 43 mm socket remove the hex nut on the spindle (axle shaft) . there are 3 bolts on the inside of the hub (9/16) which need to be removed. You might have to separate the bearing retainer ( the part that the 9/16 bolts hold) from the housing by prying between them. The axle shaft should pull out from the differential by hand force.

Has anyone had a problem with a 99 dodge with the cummins engine shutting down while pulling with a fault code of 368?

it is possible. The 368 code is related to fuel. Your transfer pump should be pushing 10-15 psi. if it goes less then 10 psi it starves and will ruin the VP44 injection pump. This a very common problem. it is best to run a fuel pressure gauge. CHANGE OUT THE TRANSFER PUMP, and hope you haven't toasted your injection pump.
