Ethnicity

The Kurdish people have a homeland that spans parts of Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. They are an ethnic minority group and have historically faced challenges in seeking autonomy and recognition within these countries.

As of the 2020 census, approximately 400,000 black people live in Dallas County, Texas.

The Han Chinese make up about 92 percent of the population of China.

The populations of the various Dari ethnicities in Afghanistan, such as Tajiks and Hazaras, vary across regions. Tajiks are one of the largest Dari ethnic groups, primarily living in the northern and central regions of the country. Hazaras are another prominent Dari ethnic group, concentrated in central Afghanistan, particularly in areas like Bamiyan and Daykundi.

Not a lot. The Black people we tend to get are Africans, not Black North Americans [or African Americans/Canadians].

I'm not sure why we don't have a lot of Black people - maybe because we are so far West? The Quakers helped Black slaves escape from America via an underground railroad on the East Coast so maybe the descendents of those people just never ventured out this way. That would explain why we are getting new immigrants straight from Africa but not a lot of Black Canadians who have descended from earlier settlers.

There is probably nothing you can do about it. We must ask ourselves what is wrong with each culture being separate from other cultures and putting their own people first. Is it really immoral, or is that just being politically correct? We must ask ourselves if people who cannot be loyal to their own people and groups can be loyal to any group. Still, if we want to try to reduce it, we should all try to remember that we are all of equal worth inside.

Similar cultural, historical, or ancestral traits, often related to shared language, religion, or traditions. It is a socially constructed concept that is used to group individuals based on certain characteristics.

A Functionalist perspective on Race and Ethnicity is that Functionalists believe that in terms of understanding ethnic stratification it is possible to achieve a value consensus in wider society regardless of cultural variations between ethnic groups in society. Functionalists believe that Ethnic groups need to become assimilated into mainstream or dominant culture. A key assumption behind this approach is that although societies go through a period of adaption with an influx of immigrant groups that it naturally manages to stabilise itself through absorption. Functionalists theorise that when immigrants become assimilated into the host society they can participate in the benefits of the host society, such as upward social mobility.

There are approximately 7,000 ethno-linguistic groups in the world.

Ethnic solidarity is when a particular group of people who share a common ethnicity or culture bond together to achieve a common goal. Or it is the recognition of a sameness within a group about a shared belief or concern. For instance African Americans may all recognize that they are the descendant's of Slaves and that is their common bond.
