Ford Explorer

I'm not a mechanic / technician but I assume that would be :

Bank 2 , sensor 1

Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine in a 1999 Ford Explorer

Sensor 1 would be the oxygen sensor somewhere in the exhaust before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter ( upstream sensor )

I have ford explorer 2002 too My OD was off to blinking saying low oil pressure I had oil changes and it said no pressure..I took one mechanic he said it was senors malfunction told me no worry about it..5 month later i had no speed in city i couldn't drive 25 mile i only could drive it 10 mile per hr it would go..then pulling one side and then made loud noise..the light came on OD saying need transmission check..i took in mechanic he check transmission fluid it was fine..then he check OD he told me the OD should been on..the mechanic took my truck around block and then look underneath to look at transmission he said my 3 gear is missing.. I'm going what..he said your transmission is gone..he said OD should been on for over drive, especially if you drive on high way I mess up transmission it burned it up.

An addition:

The OD light is for overdrive. It refers to the higher gearing in the transmission.

The OD light should be on or off. If it is flashing, then it indicates a problem condition. This is not an engine condition. This has nothing to do with engine oil. Transmissions have their own separate oil and it is called transmission fluid.

A mechanic who says the OD sensor is bad should not be believed. A wrong guess like that can ruin the transmission because the true cause is a real problem. The OD sensor should be replaced if it is suspected faulty.

Driving with the OD on or off (light on or off, not flashing) will not harm the transmission. It is designed to work in both modes. It is a matter of an adjustment in power and efficiency between the two, not a required state that must be used at certain times.

Trouble code P0775 means:Pressure control solenoid "B"

Behind an access panel in the cargo area , on the drivers side , by the liftgate

Right around 107 MPH (Remember that your speedometer will read different)

There will be a fill plug on the side of the trans, fill it until fluid comes out of the hole and seal it back up.

the pump it self is about 200.00 then the labor the tank has to be removed its on the drivers side under the rear door . before you replace it though you should check the fuel cut off switch which is located under the das on the passengers side on the fire wall under the carpet if you hit a very hard bump its possible to trip it its suposed to turn off the fuel pump in case of an accident but a really hard bump can cause it too that's the cheaper thing to check

The washer fluid for the rear liftgate is supplied by the same reservoir as the

front windshield , located in the engine compartment

A problem has been detected with your Antilock Brake System

It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem

As long as the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is not on , you still have

" normal " brakes

According to the Owner Guide , in the power distribution box in the engine

compartment ( P D box is " live " )

Mini fuse # 9 is a yellow colored 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump relay and RAP module

also , relay # 5 in the power distribution box is the fuel pump relay

and the fuel pump reset ( inertia ) switch is in the front passenger footwell , behind the kick panel ( I assume there is an access hole or panel )

It is a switch designed to shut down the fuel in the event of collision.

On a 1999 Ford Explorer :

You can see one end of the Powertrain Control Module ( PCM ) from the engine

compartment . It passes through the firewall and you can see one end

where the wiring harness bolts to it . Most of the PCM is " hidden " behind the

glovebox area

according to the owners manual there is an attaching hole in the rear edge of the front passenger seat cushion frame that will allow the installation of part # 613D74 ( tether anchorage hardware kit ) I believe there is no charge for the kit. The air bag is a hazard to children, so if it can't be shut off for the passenger, the seat should be moved all the way back in it's travel.

In location # 16 of your fuse panel ( driver's end of dash - visible with driver's door open ) there is a 30 amp mini-fuse for your windshield wiper motor, wiper HI-LO relay, and wiper RUN/PARK relay. There may be spare fuses on the inside of the access panel. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your relays are in the power distribution box in your engine compartment - THE PD BOX IS LIVE - DISCONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE - the wiper park relay is in location # 1 and the wiper HI/LO relay is in location # 3 in case you need to know !

no they have different ecu's

check the idle speed with the car in gear, if it has a tac on the dash it should idle in gear at about 700 rpm if its too low the car will vibrate or stall.

Since the alternative is to replace the IAC, you may as well attempt to clean it. There are warnings for what time of cleaner to use but WD-40 works well for me. Remove the IAC by disconnecting the electrical connector and then the 2 screws which secure the IAC to the intake manifold. Turn it over to reveal the valve which is electronically actuated. You'll probably note it is black with carbon. Spray the inside with the cleaner multiple times. Use a small screwdriver or something to work the piston back and forth somewhat. Just a little movement is all that's needed. More cleaner. Slosh, repeat. Shake it out and install in reverse order of removal. Crank it up. If better, great. If not, replace IAC.
