the key needs to be in the barrel and turned until the two small square pegs on the underside of the barrel casing can be pushed into the barrel .allowing the barrel to be pulled out i just did this on my farthers car and i believe there should be two screws securing the barrel aswell but they were missing hope this is of help to you

There is a brake switch which is actually behind the brake pedal, the fuse would not have blown its more like the brake switch. Easily fixed too.

If it's on th dash near the display on how many k's the car has done then it's notifying you that you've gone past a certain amount on k's on the clock and that your car need's a service. To turn it off, start the ignition on you car and hold in the trip meter button for about 15 secs, you should hear a beep and the wrench will turn off!

There are a few factors that will complicate things...

First, what size is your engine? a V8 will obviously have more towing power than a straight six.

Is the car a manual or automatic? A manual is more versatile and lets you use the whole range of engine power, an auto may require a transmission cooler for heavy duty towing.

What are you towing? The tongue weight of a trailer is a big factor when towing with a car.

What condition is your car in? A forty year old car with an original engine probably couldn't pull a drunken sailor off a dead hooker.

The straight answer: if your car runs well, a reasonably in shape adult male can lift the tonge of your trailer and your car has a manual transmission and a straight six engine then you can pull about 2000 kg max, a little more with a V8. a little less with an auto transmission. The best way is to test it out, tow the trailer around for a while, if you really struggle up hills then it is best not to do long distance, trailering is tough on a car and will be double tough on a car that old, make sure your brakes are in good working order!!! - hope this helps, good luck!

I have a AU Falcon the Red Hand on my Dash under the Fuel gauge represents the Smart Lock eg. Imobilizes the Ignition system (Anti Theft).

Feel behind the dash for the back of the switch, on the apposite that the wiring is you will feel a small spring-loaded button. Pull the switch out to the headlight position, push the button in at the back and the knob will be released, pull the knob out the rest of the way and undo nut at the front the switch is now yours.

Don't know '63 but know '65 well. In XP it is connected to the headlight switch. You have to put one hand behind dash to find. There is a button on the passenger side of the fuse box behind the h'light switch. Press that in and pull h'light stalk completely out/off. Then you have to hold the fuse box and unscrew the headlight bezel. Fuse Box is then yours to play with.

Once you've done what you have to do, screw bezel back on, but be sure that box is aligned properly with notch in dash (should be on driver side of hole in dash). If you don't, electrics won't work properly and h'light stalk will not lock/stay in.

the inhibitor switch only allows the car to be started in Neutral or Park. No other positions.

Yes you can. You need to buy an inline convertor that takes the speaker output from the back of the head unit and turns them into RCA outputs. Then you need to find any wire that powers up when the car is on and off when the car is off. Splice into that wire from the Remote turn on wire. The rest is a simple.

This problem would usually be caused from a vacuum hose leaking or fallen off.
I had a similar problem and found it by sticking my head under the bonnet and listening for a slight whistle sound

HI there. Turn key to ACC position. You will see a little hole on the key barrell. Just get a paper clip or something and push in and than pull out the lock key and all. hope it helps

The tail, park and dome light fuse is located in a 5 fuse fuse box located on the headlight switch, under dash. There are 3 fuses stacked and another 2 off to the side of them. The tail/park/dome fuse is the one on the top ( not in the 3 stack. Kinda hard to get at. I used a small mirror to help. It should be a 15 amp fuse.

easiest way. remove thermo fan. should be two bolts holding fan and a electrical plug. remove the plastic guard around power steering pump. you will need a 10mm socket and ratchet to undo the nut on the thermostat housing. use a long series rachet and turn tensioner. remove belt. easiest way to install belt is to invert the belt so writing is facing inwards. start at the tensioner and work around crank anti clockwise. putting on alternator and power steering last. reinstall thermo fan and plug in thermo fan plug. note: the thermo fan is usually a snug fit to get out. have to slide it past the auto cooler fittings and top radiator hose fitting. note: the thermo fan sits in two plastic holders on the radiator. make sure the thermo fan sits in properly, otherwise you will end up having big problems. seen it done. reinstall the plastic guard around power steering pump. should take about five minutes to do. done about a hundred of them.

In a BA Falcon, you will need to use 4 1/2 liters of oil. Make sure the oil is either 5w30 or 10w30.

Ford manufactured roughly 200,000 EF Falcons in Australia between 1994 to 1996. This six cylinder sedan was replaced after only two years by the EL Falcon.

Depending on what type of central locking you have there a two mwethods and by reseting I gather you mean reprogramming the fobs to the cars locking system.

First you need to ascertain if you have IR (Infra Red) or RF (Radio) Central locking, the R plate came with both.

IR cars have little square black windows on the exterior door handles at the front.

RF cars dont, but the cool thing about RF equipped cars is that a 3 button key from a newer ford will open the boot/trunk remotly too!

Anyway to reprogram IR keys do this:

Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I. After 10 seconds the red alarm LED should illuminate. As soon as it does remove the key from the ignition - the LED should remain lit. Open the drivers window. Point the remote key at the front door sensor and press the rear button until the light on the transmitter illuminates, keep the button pressed until it does! With the rear button held in press the front button 4 times then release both at the same time. The control lights in both the clock and fob will flash 4 times to indicate sucseful programming. Turn the ignition back on to exit programming mode

To reprogram RF keys do this:

Insert the ignition key and turn from position II to position 0 and back four times within three seconds. Remove the ignition key. During the next 20 seconds press one of the transmitter buttons on each key you wish to program. The warning system LED wil flash to confirm programming. You have to code each and every key each time you do this.

I used this method for my P reg mondeo (IR) but used position 11 not pos 1 and it worked a treat!

ATF, Auto Trans Fluid
