How do you remove a ba falcon steering wheel?
Firstly your going to want to disconnect the battery or remove the airbag fuse, and wait 10 or so minutes for it to discharge. So you don't get injured from it.
next there should be a small panel either side of the steering wheel that you remove with a flathead screwdriver. Once done there is 2x10mm bolts that need to be removed to take out the airbag (will need to undo the airbag wires). After that, remove the screws that hold the wheel on and yank it to remove (will need to be careful of all the wires!!)
Is there a difference between 289 and 302 radiator hoses?
yes look at the belt system. If it is the the older style v-belt drive with a standard rotation water pump the inlet and outlets are on the passenger side of the radiator. If you have a serpentine belt drive like the 80s-90s EFI 5.0, it will be a reverse rotation pump and the outlets and inlets on the driver and pass. side of the radiator. In short if it is an eirly 302 that has not been tuched it is the same.If your car has had a later 302 engine in it then there will be a difference and you have to google mustang cross over tube

The ford falcon 6cyl engines have small hydraulic lifters often reffered to as tappets. What causes your 289 Ford Falcon to backfire?
ok, is the backfire through the exhaust or inlet manifold? if its through the exhaust it means ur mixture is to rich, causing unburnt fuel to ignite in exhuast, if through inlet it is a lean backfire, either way if carby in good condition it sounds like mixture screw, to adjust, start car and get to operating temp, wind mixture screw in till car almost stalls then back out 1 and a quarter turns, that's a static point to go from. good luck
Smartlock system Ford Falcon 1994?
The XG smart lock unit is located beside and below the central heater controls in the dashboard. Remove the heater knobs and switches, also the plastic facia, radio and ashtray. Behind them is a U shaped mount bracket which you must remove too (tis a simple operation). Now, you need to remove the glove box compartment also.
Once done, there's a compartment between where the ashtray was and the lower passenger side glove box (nearest the centre console btw) ...get a torch and look inside this as there's a smallish hole (inch by and inch and roundish) directly in the front of this compartment which hides within it the smartlock module.
Now the bad part... they were fitted without access to remove them. So simply cut away a hole it will fit through (5 inches long and 4 inches wide) on the astray side and beside where the module is positioned within. Once done, you'll see two screw plugs fitted with screws to maintain the mount onto which the SL module is riveted. Use a pair of long nosed plier and simply wind the tips of the screws in the loosening direction... remember, you're working backwards as the screw heads are from the inside to the outside of the dash front. They will both remove to a point where you can simply and easily pop the screw plugs too and out comes the whole unit, brackets and all!
You'll need to giggle it at angles to get it through the hole.

Why does windscreen wiper fuse keeps blowing on your Ford Falcon AU wagon?
I believe you have a short somewhere that is causing excess current to flow in that circuit or wiring which causes the fuse to open. Falcon (?) being an old car. Without a wiring diagram (schematic) a long hard visual inspection may be your best bet. Good luck!
On my 2000 AU wagon the problem was caused by the rear window wiper motor falling apart, allowing the brushes to short together. Try disconecting at the plug inside the tailgate and replace the fuse. Time will tell if that's the problem.
