Why does your 2005 1.4 fiesta zetec misfire when you accelerate?

Whats happening is water from your washer jets is leaking and running down your airbox and somehow gettin into the coil pack/leads or plugs, causing the engine to misfire, engine management light will probaly be on the dash. It can be fixed by changin the coil pack but i would recoment tryin to change the spark plugs and leads 1st.

This is a common fault with ford fiesta but it shouldn't happen with your year because they were realled 03/53 plates from then on the washer jets at a rubber seal on them to stop this from happning.

When i drive over bumps i can hear knocking on my driver side front wheel ford fiesta 1999?

Could be a couple of things. I would check your shock absorber for signs of leaking and check the coil spring, it could be broken. The car will sit slightly lower on one side if there is a busted shock.

Where is the oil filter on the latest ford fiesta 1.4 tdci 2007?

It is based underneath the engine bay and is usually white in colour. If you climb under the front of the car and look straight up just behind the fan you will see it. Looks like a little gas canister.

The oil filter on the 1.4tdci is mounted on the right-hand side of the engine block (as you look in under the bonnet) and is in a black plastic housing which unscrews to expose a replaceable paper element filter. The filter housing points upwards at a slight angle, and looks like a fat black bottle with a hexagonal cap. To get at it, first remove the front section of the air pipe which passes over it. This section of pipe can be taken out by flexing the end of it out of the bracket above the radiator, then twisting and pulling it out of the connecting collar next to the air-filter. Stuff some rag or kitchen roll around the base of the filter housing. I find a 11/16" A/F socket (Old Mini oil drain-plug socket) fits the hexagon perfectly, but another answer to this same question tells me I should use a 27mm socket, which I would, if I had one. Use a socket and extension and unscrew the complete housing. It'll take bit of gentle force to get it moving, and because it's plastic, it tends to flex. The housing may come off complete with the paper filter plugged into it. The new filter will come with a new rubber-band seal which fits into a groove above the screw-thread. Push the new filter into the housing, offer it up to the engine and rote it until the plastic lug drops into its socket. Then screw the housing in by hand for a few turns to ensure it isn't cross-threaded, then tighten it with the socket spanner. Replace the air hose. Then use that kitchen roll to wipe that black oil off your hands! Start the engine and ensure that the housing isn't leaking. (It won't be). Then go for a cup of tea.

How do you read a screw thread call out?

This sounds like an easy question, but the answer depends on which type of thread call-out you are trying to read.

There are multiple types of screw threads and each has its own call-out; but many are similar in syntax.

The most common screw thread style in the USA is the UN-series. These screw threads are specified in ANSI/ASME B.1.

An example of a UN-series thread call-out is:

1/4"-20 UNC-2A

Decoded it is:

Nominal Major Diameter (1/4")-Threads-per-inch (20) Type of thread (UN) Sub-thread-series (C)-Class-of-fit (2A)

An example of the M-series thread call-out is:

M16x1.5-6g

Decoded it is:

Type of thread (M) Nominal major diameter (16) Thread pitch (1.5) class-of-fit (6g)

For more detailed information here is a link to a nice PDF book which gives very clear basic information on screw threads: http://www.ring-plug-thread-gages.com/ti_starret.pdf.

I do hope that you found this information helpful.

How many miles can you go once your low fuel light turns on in a 2001 ford fiesta?

Depends on your driving style, engine performance condition, fuel quality, and driving conditions. You will not get far, and it is suggested to keep at least a quarter tank of gas because the fuel lubricates the fuel pump; driving with little gas may cause pre-mature fuel pump failure.
