Inspection fail O2 and cat sensors not ready even after driving 01 Ford F-150?
The OBD2 self tests can take awhile to clear. All of these self tests go in a particular order as well. The cat is the last to clear. The cat self test has to be done with stop and go driving around town(alot of it). It has to reach a set temp to pass its self test. I had to clear all of the tests and start over for it to cycle correctly on my 98 F-150.
What does the F in Ford F-150 stand for?
Maybe it "stands" for Ford, if anything; certainly not "Fleetline" since that was a Chevrolet label. Initially, the truck was called the "F1" then it became the "F100" and now the "F150", so the numeric part of the name doesn't "stand for" anything either--except, of course, the truck itself.

Where do you put transmission fluid in a 1974 ford f100?
How do you locate HVAC system in Ford F-150?
Not quite sure what you're asking here - HVAC stands for "Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning", and includes such things as the air conditioning compressor, condenser and evaporator coils, associated tubing and other components, the heater core and its hoses, the various ducts, airflow controlling valves, and the control panel on the dashboard. If your vehicle has a premium system with automatic temperature control there will probably be an electronic control box that automatically regulates all of the above to maintain your selected temperature.
These components vary in location from the front of the vehicle to the passenger compartment, under the hood, behind the instrument panel, and sometimes even in the trunk or rear of the vehicle (if you have a multi-zone system that provides heating or cooling separately to the rear).

How do you get keys out of an Ford truck that are locked in?
If your Ford truck is an F series or one of the Explorer sized SUV's or larger and it is a mid 90's to early 2000's all you need is a log, flat-tipped screw driver.
On the driver side door, at the door handle: raise the door handle and notice a larger hinge opening at the rear. Insert the long screw driver here gently and move it around until you see the door lock move inside. When this happens, you know you are against it. This is a threaded rod, so there will be no problem using the screw driver to move the lock mechanism up.
The screw driver must be about twelve inches long or longer to accomplish this, and do not attempt to use this to steal a Ford vehicle; it could render the ignition dead until reset.

How do you replace an ignition tumbler on a 1981 Ford truck?
Take your battery cable off the post so you don't short out anything. Turn the key to run and then you have to take the steering wheel off to get to the release pin. When you push the pin you should be able to pull the ignition switch out. If you can't turn the key to run you will have trouble. I just did this and had to drill the ignition switch out which wasn't fun.
ANSWER #2 1994 ford f150Replacing ignition tumbler on a ford f150 1994Memorial day week end and my brother just broke the key off in the ignition of my truck. Ohhh Brother! HOW TO replace the tumbler when a key is broken off or really stuck in the tumbler.
First: You need to remove the four philups head screws on the under side of the steering column. Second: you will notice a pin when looking up at the underside to the column. Laying on the seat you will have to position (turn) the lock to a position where it will allow you to depress the pin to slide the tumbeler out. After pressing the button with a nail or nail set or other, you then easily pry the tumbeler out. The tumbeler is about $50 adn yyou can get it at the auto parts store.
If you are looking to now get the key on the ignition tumbler to now match the doors well, that's a issues that i do not have an answer for. And to be quite honest, do you really care that much to spend that much $$$ if you have an old piece of shi* like this anyway? If you are really looking to get the keys to match then call a locksmith or order the tumbler from FORD, MAYBE.

What size socket do you need for the axle nut on a 2003 ford F-150 4X4?
If you go to Autozone they rent the socket. I believe it is a 4 or 5 prong socket. Not a conventional socket. Just tell them what year, what tonage (ie 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton etc), and that it's 4 wheel drive. Good luck. Lonjames1 at hotmail dot com

F-350 bank 1 sensor 2 location?
Bank 1 sensor 2 is located driver side pre cat.
There are 3 sensors located on this truck, Bank 1 sensor 1 is the passenger side, Bank 1 sensor 2 is driver side pre cat, bank 2 sensor 1 is after cat.
The 2 sensors pre cat are the ones you should worry about, these are the sensors that will get the most violent of ware, they are also directly related to fuel consumption and in this vehicle can cause serious power loss.
The sensor after the cat is basically there to tell you when your cat needs to be changed and doesn't effect fuel consumption.
My 2009 F350 super duty had a bank 1 sensor 2 code come up, I didn't have the time to change it and the fuel it used was mind blowing. I went from 135kms left till empty to 93kms till empty in the period on 20 mins...idling. That's when I had it changed.
