How many redwood trees are in California?
The Redwood trees have almost entirely been logged out of existence. Of the Old growth ancient Redwoods that used to inhabit the area, less then 2% are still standing today.
The trees that are still around are very small in comparison to the ancient trees that used to exist. An ancient Redwood could grow up to 300-350 feet in height and over 25 feet across at the base of the tree. The average life of a Redwood is between 2000-2500 years.
...but again, human ignorance and greed have stripped almost all of those trees from the planet. Of the 2% that are left, most of those exist on private timber land and are awaiting to be logged. Only a small handful of the trees have been saved and even fewer of them are in our national forests... in fact, Redwood National Forest has TWO logging mills in it.
---
Redwood trees are not even close to be logged out of existence. Go to Northern California and see all the National Parks that protect thousands upon thousands of both second growth and especially old growth.

Types of plants in Newzealand?
The main alpine forest in New Zealand is the beech forest. This is mainly mountain beech (Nothofagus solandri var. cliffitoides), but also includes black, red and silver beech (Nothofagus solandri, fusca, and menziesii).Other alpine trees include mountain cedar (kaikawaka) and mountain totara.
New Zealand alpine forests are at relatively low altitudes, generally 1200-1500m is the upper limit, and scrub (low bushy plants) or tussock grasses are found at higher altitudes. The low treeline is thought to be a result of the relatively recent geological uplift of the New Zealand mountains and the isolation of New Zealand from other alpine environments, where more specialized high altitude trees have developed.
New Zealand forests are evergreen.

What is the difference between a rain forest and a jungle?
There is a difference between rainforest and jungle, though this doesn't have much to do with rainfall. Jungle areas typically surround rainforest areas, and have a key difference that has little to do with climate. The biggest distinction is that rain forests have an incredibly thick canopy of very tall trees. This means there are far fewer plants at ground level. Trees block out much of the light that would be required by most plants to thrive, so you will usually only find shade loving ground plants in rain forest areas.

How do you get past the stones in pinwheel forest in black?
If Team Plasma is blocking it, battle the gym leader Lenora, and the Team Plasma grunts will steal the Dragonite Dragon Skull. Then the gym leader from Castelia, Burgh will come and take you to Pinwheel Forest, where you go down the forest road and battle more team plasma grunts.
If you need to catch a fighting type to defeat Lenora, go to the grass that is available before you come to the "Team Plasma Grunt Wall" as I like to call it~
