Why does a 1990 Honda Civic not start after driving it. Will run one day and the next it won't. What could it be. It starts for a long time and then it doesn't. If you wait and then it will.?

A friend had the same problem on a 90 hatchback it was the master relay. Seems to be a common problem. Guess there is a solder joint that fails some times and works just fine other times. But, if the engine won't crank then it could be the starter or other problems in the starting system.

Your starter may be faulty. You can get a rebuilt one installed...but only go to a mechanic that has high ratings from past/current customers. Also, have the mechanic check your battery. Could be registering full and yet is faulty in it's compound (insides).
