As it was June, the US troops were wearing SUMMER uniforms, that were made of cotton. Leather boots, black, olive green trousers and shirts, with an over jacket that had pockets in the chest, and web belts, with various ammo pouches and water canteens and a steel helmet, and helmet liner. In addition, they carried various things like extra ammo cans, machine gun belts or mortar rounds. The jump boots were higher, to support the ankle, and the pants had cargo pockets to hold more stuff, like grenades, and food cans.
