How do you care for a pool while you are on vacation?
Run the system as normal but you may also add extra chlorine just before you leave. Or have a neighbor add about a gallon of chlorine or the same amount of chlorine you normally would use per each week you are gone. Of course, the amount of chlorine depends upon the size of the pool. You might also get him to brush or vac the pool ( with the added benefit of using it without abusing it).

Usually if a gerbil has lethargy, it means they are often lazy, always tired maybe sometimes even weak. A gerbil with lethargy can live for it's normal length if you are willing to help it. If you notice he is too weak or just too tired to get his own food, put the food next to him. If the gerbil is too tired to reach his water, put the water in a dish(though this is not recommended, you could try to bring the bottle to him), that way he can reach it better. If he cannot eat, than you must bring him/her to a vet, otherwise your gerbil has a low chance of surviving. Gerbils need exercise as well, if your gerbil can run on a wheel for at least two to three minutes, your gerbil will do fine, but if it stops every so many seconds. It will become obese, with less exercise, a gerbil may become more lethargic than before.

It is very rare for a gerbil to bite, they are mostly really friendly and docile. They only bite when the are being mistreated, hurt, or really really scared. They sometimes also bite if you have been handling food like banana because they mistake you for food and try to 'eat' you. If your gerbil bites, don't get rid of it. Try holding it with gloves every day and remove the first glove in 4 days or so, then the other one in the next 4 days or so. If they have had bad experiences with handling before, that may cause them to bite, so be calm and perhaps give them treats like milk drops or apple so they associate handling with positive things. :)
