Which gerbil colour is the cutest?
Preference for a particular fur color in a gerbil is an individual thing. The good thing is that there are so many colors to chose from!
The gerbil color "pallete" includes:
Can gerbils eat corn on the cobb- raw?
If by raw you mean uncooked then yes and even steemed, cooled down and unsalted corn is OK. Gerbils can eat uncooked corn on the cobb/kernnels. Raw corn is actually sod in most gerbil's mixed food from stores.
Can you put a mirror up to a gerbils cage or will it upset her?
I will put it this way.
Try doing it if you want and if she seems freaked out in any way or if she trys to attack it take it down straight away.
How can you tell if your gerbil is a baby?
If you mean baby like 2 weeks, he is small, eyes shut and ears down. Don't separate him from the mom. You can usually tell if a gerbil is a baby (this time i mean like 1/2 year) because he is still small and his squeak is high.
What do it means when a gerbils noce is bleeding?
If you have more than one gerbil then maybe the other one scratched it when they were play-fighting. Also your gerbil could be alergic to the type of bedding you have in the cage. It is normally aspen and other man-made wood products
Why wont your gerbil go in her ball?
scared or its her poo house or she is not in it enough gerbils should be in there balls 10-25 min a day
Does it matter how much food you have for breakfast?
The amount of food doesn't matter as much as what type it is. A breakfast that has foods that will be metabolized over a period of time rather than quickly will give your body energy for a longer period than no breakfast, or one that is rapidly digested. Aim for foods that are low on the GI index.
That's kinda creepy. If there was only a head / face remaining, as in, no body, I would assume that he was eaten. Most likely, yes. Usually when you leave two hampsters in a cage for a period of time one might become more aggressive than the other. One of the hampsters might have been hogging all the food and the other left hungry to which the starving hampster killed the other in order for survival.
The best thing to do is just keep them separate like I do.

Oh yeah I totally agree that is sorta creepy. Was he dead without a body and only a head? And is one of your hamsters still alive or has blood on his mouth? If so, then your hamster ate his buddy.
How long do Mongolian gerbils live?
Mongolian gerbils live for 3-5 years. In some cases they can live up to 8 years, but this is uncommon.
Why do gerbils poop when taken out of cage?
they might be scared. handle them in the cage more to make them less frightened.
you might be squeezing too hard lolz.
Your dwarf hamster was bitten by a gerbil a few times and his leg is broken too what should you do?
If his leg is broken it is kindest to take him to the vet and have him put down. A broken leg can't normally be fixed in a hamster, and he will eventually die in pain.and give it food.
Should you have a mouse or a gerbil?
I have owned two gerbils (both were male) and I have known them to be sociable creatures with a lot of personality. I have also owned three mice, (all female); as well as a ferret, but I doubt you're interested in that. I found both gerbils and mice entertaining as well as full of personality. Both do well alone, but best with a small group or in pairs and with litter mates.
Both gerbils and mice have easy handling and care requirements. I found that gerbils work better than mice in a busier household - but mice don't chew, dig, etc. at night when you are trying to fall asleep.
I suggest you do some research and ask breeders, people at the pet store, etc. their opinions. Whichever you choose, I'm sure you'll find them to create a fun and exciting experience. :)
AnswerThere are two factors:
-You have to have at least two gerbils together
-one lone mouse will do fine
Gerbils, are great, but they get bored easily if they do not have a wheel[special wheels are needed for gerbils so their tails do not get stuck, chech your local pet store]. You have to constantly give them paper towel tubes as well,
Mice on the other hand are happy with at least a wheel and a little box house.{tissue box, ect.}
In the end mice are easier to take care of and gerbils are a bit challenging. I suggest you get either from a breeder. they both do pretty well with kids too. So, its up to You. but, both are curious and show tuns of personality. hope this was helpful, good Luck!!!
AnswerI have a gerbil, and he is very easy to take care of. One thing is that they are not Nocternal. So thety won't keep you up all night. Second is that Mongolin Gerbils are desert animals. So they wont drink as much as Hansters or mice. Third, you only need one gerbil. Two gerbils may fight over terrotiorry.
AnswerI also have two gerbils but i don't think that matters if you only have one. I'm also pretty sure gerbils are less exspensive, on the other hand mice are a little cuter. They also both need a speical wheel for their tails. Also gerbils will not fight over territory they're quite friendly to each other and take care of each other. I also like hamsters but they definetley get bored faster than mice and gerbils. They need to be tended and occupied alot. My opinion..... I have none.
i have two gerbils (females) as you are meant to keep them in pairs but they fell out when they were a couple of months old so i suggest getting males
you must have two or more gerbils they hate being alone in the wild they live in colonys of mixed sexs so at least two is the best.
Both are very nice creatures but I have had great pleasure in owning two female gerbils. Alright they make a mess now and again but gerbils would be the best.
What to do when your gerbil is pregnant and hasn't give birth?
It might be a couple of days late, or maybe it's not actually pregnant.
If you are completely sure your gerbil is pregnant and should have given birth a while ago try going to the vets.
Can gerbils eat strawberries and strawberry leaves?
Yes, my gerbil loves strawberry leaves but won't eat the strawberry but I know that they can eat strawberys.
No of course not. Its cruel and it wriggles far to much to get it on.
Are there gerbils with no tails?
gerbils are all born with tails but they have the ability to lose part of their tail. It will never grow back, and it will be harder for them to balance. They like their tails.

To be honest, if you just buy 2 gerbils, boy and girl, then it is unpredictable to know when they mate. They could mate anytime. :D
How can you tell your sheep is going to have a baby?
The baby or babies will drop in the uterus causing the ewes belly to drop lower. The bag will swell, the vulva will become large and red often times with discharge. The ewe won't eat the evening before or the morning of. They separate from the flock and paw the ground.
No they don't. They go into heat on average about every 6 to 10 days. Only during that time will they allow a male to mate with them and can become pregnant.
