Well actually by having Chow mixed in it could go either way...

I've been wondering this all day where the did the German word kauderwelsch come from?

The words "kau" (to chew) "der" (the) "welsh" (another name for romansh speaking population of Switzerland).

The French Swiss are (to the untrained ear) quite difficult to understand.

"Gibberish" - "kauderwelsh" - "the chewing of words" is a fitting description.

==========================================================

The German word Kauderwelsch means muddled speech, especially in several languages, or in an incomprehensible foreign language.

The word welsch was given to the Romanic languages, such as those spoken in parts of Switzerland, Wallonia, Wachovia and Wales (compare English word Welsh!!)

The word Kauder is either derived from the early High German word kuder, meaning oakum or poor quality flax (one theory is that the term kauderwelsch was a derogatory title for Italian flax dealers;

or from Chuder, an adjective for the Romanic speaking people of Chur, Graubünden, and therefore Chuderwelsch originally meant the 'Welsh' language of the people of Chur. This theory is given a little weight by the fact that the Swiss word for Kauderwelsch is Chuderwelsch

or according to the Dictionary of the Brothers Grimm from the noun kaudern meaning to gobble like a turkey; blabber; prattle; speak incomprehensibly.

It has nothing to do with 'chewing the Welsh' but its an amusing theory!

Okay, so let me get this straight.. You KNOW your dog has a dead pup inside of her and it's been three days since she delivered a live pup. Now you are wondering if she can pass it on her own? Wow. What a question, one that YOU think you'd already know the answer to. But, apparently not.

The answer is NO, if she couldn't have the puppy when she was giving birth then she will continue to retain this dead puppy.

Are german shepherds dangerous pets?

This poor breed gets lots of negative attention from the media, but they can make amazing pets. Often used as working dogs, German Shepherds are courageous, keen, alert and fearless. Cheerful, obedient and eager to learn. Tranquil, confident, serious and clever. GSDs are extremely faithful, and brave. They will not think twice about giving their lives for their human pack. They have a high learning ability. German Shepherds love to be close to their families, but can be wary of strangers. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. They only bark when they feel it is necessary. Often used as police dogs, the German Shepherd has a very strong protective instinct, and are extremely loyal to their handler. Socialized this breed well starting at puppyhood. Aggression and attacks on people are due to poor handling and training. Problems arise when an owner allows the dog to believe he is pack leader over humans and or does not give the dog the mental and physical daily exercise they need to be stable. This breed needs owners who are naturally authoritative over the dog in a calm, but firm, confident and consistent way. A stable, well-adjusted, and trained dog is for the most part generally good with other pets and excellent with children in the family. They must be firmly trained in obedience from an early age. German Shepherds who have passive owners and or who's instincts are not being met can become timid, skittish and may be prone to fear biting and develop a guarding issue. They should be trained and socialized from an early age. German Shepherds will not listen if they sense that they are stronger minded than their owner, however they will also not respond well to harsh discipline. Owners need to have an air of natural authority to their demeanor. Do not treat this dog as if he were human. Learn canine instincts and treat the dog accordingly. German Shepherds are one of the smartest and most trainable breeds. With this highly skilled working dog comes a drive to have a job and a task in life and a consistent pack leader to show them guidance. They need somewhere to channel their mental and physical energy. This is not a breed who will be happy simply laying around your living room or locked out in the back yard. The breed is so intelligent and learns so readily that it has been used as a sheepdog, guard dog, in police work, as a guide for the blind, in search and rescue service, and in the military. The German Shepherd also excels in many other dog activities including schutzhund, tracking, obedience, agility, flyball, and ring sport. His fine nose can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipes buried 15 feet underground. The German Shepherd is also a popular show and family companion.

ANY dog can become dangerous, it depends on how it was raised and whether it's owners took the time to socialize it.

Should you get a second opinion before having cone biopsy?

A cone biopsy is only done after other tests have come back positive, so I don't think a second opinion is medically necessary. In order to practice as a doctor, all doctors have to have passed exams and be licensed to practice.

If your smears have show cancerous cells and you do not feel comfortable with your doctor it may be better for you to work with another doctor as it is likely that the treatment will be emotional for you and may last a long time.

But doing a cone biopsy after a positive smear test is normal, routine standard procedure.

Do German Shepard's understand German commands easier then English commands?

German Shepherds don't favor German commands unless they have been trained with them, say from when they were puppies. English is not harder for them to learn because they are GermanShepherds. They just follow commands in the language they in which they were trained.

Edit: Actually dogs dont know languages but sound sequels. so it doesnt matter because the dont recognize what language it is.
