I brought my Sonoma in for this this morning and my quote was $1900 for the whole deal. $1900 was my quote for my clutch, this is from a Chevy dealer service deaprtment. I have not seen the breakdown of parts and labor.

im sure this is a standard transmission.they dont have dipstick tubes you have to get under car and remove the fill plug in the trans.you check with the fluid just dripping out of the hole.then its full .you add fluid through same hole.ATTENTION!!some standards have lots of bolts and plugs that retain internal parts removeing the wrong ones could be a catastropy!!!!!!!make sure its the fill plug!!

Remove all the connections going to the ECM carefully. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the ECM in, remove the ECM. Take the coolant overflow tank out. There is a stud that held the coolant overflow bottle in at the back, remove this by prying it from inside the wheel well. The fan will come out easy after all this is removed.

Hi, I just finished doing the same thing. There is a plastic ring around the radio and heater that pops off, just pull it off gently. It doesnt have to come all the way off to get to the heater switch. There are four hex screws holding it on that are visible once the ring is pulled out.

A fuel pump relay is just that,a relay that runs the electric fuel pump on your vehicle. PCM stands for powertrain contol module,it is the center for contoling the proper operation of fuel delivery,engine timing etc. The fuel pump relay and pcm relay are not the same.

replace spark plug wires on a 99 sonoma

Disconnect negative (black) battery cable. Jack up the Truck on stands. Remove front right tire. Access starter from wheel well. Remove cable from ignition and positive cable coming from battery. Crawl under the passengerside near the front wheel remove two bolts on the starter. pull starter out from wheel well. Installation is reverse. You can possibly do the above from underneath the vehicle, but not sure if starter will drop down.

Remove the pan from the bottom of the transmission. There is no drain plug. Remove bolts from the the front and loosen the rear bolts so that the pan will tilt and the fluid drains out into a container. When you get as much fluid as you can, take out all bolts and lower pan. Filter is inside. Will have bolt holding it or, as mine just a tight fitting on the spout. Replace filter and gasket. a 96 takes 5 quarts, recommended Dextron 111. Hope this helps.

Your egr valve is on the top,front of your motor. It has one connector on the top, it is about as big around as a soda can.the top is black and the rest metal. If you are changing this,there are several models of vehichels that it is on. You can get it on eBay new for about $50.

under the glove box, follow the wires coming through the boot on the firewall. it's mounted vertically under the lower passenger side dash

2 should be in wires coming off the alternator, and i believe about 5 more on drivers side tucked in fender near the firewall next to the junction block.

Make sure service brakes are adjusted properly
Make sure there is still lining on shoes
Adjust either at junction of 3 cables uner vehicle or at the handle itself (may have to remove plastic trim to access if of that type) Set to 3 clicks and wheels should lock at that point

Should be on the right side (passenger side) of the engine, mounted above the oil filter.

That is a loaded question. The answer is ultimately YES, but not for the faint of heart. There is a LOT to be considered. Changing from flywheel to flex plate, transmission mounts, shift linkage, linkage to throttle, speed sensor, change driveshaft, possibly different computer, and therefore wiring harness. It California, it would probably not be approved for SMOG, other states this may also apply.

My recommendation,. if you need a truck with an automatic, . .buy one built that way.
