How do you repair car body work?

This question is very general so the answer will be the same. To repair body work, depending on the severity of the damage you may be able to hammer and dolly small dents out, you may be able to pull dents out, you may need to cut damaged areas out and tack weld replacement pieces in, you may need to fabricate new pieces if none ar available, you may need to completely remove a part and replace it with a new one depending on the damage involved. This could involve just unbolting say a fender and bolting a new one in. If you are not experienced at body work it is best to get an old fender or piece of body work and practice your talents before you go working on your intended project. There are a lot of skills needed to do body work, and you can learn them but it is not like picking up a hammer and driving a nail and calling yourself a carpenter. A skilled pair of hands, a trained eye and an assortment of tools is required....oh yea and common sense. You can buy the tools but you will need to learn the talent and that comes with practice...practice.....and more practice. Talk to someone who does body work and ask them.

How can you fix your speedometer needle on a 2004 gmc Yukon?

General Motors is well aware of this problem but has not issued a recall because they state it isn't a safety issue.

From 2002 & up the "STEPPER MOTORS" in the instrument cluster become defective. Speedometers will read incorrectly, tachometers will read incorrectly, gas, oil, water temp & amps will defect as well. I rebuild clusters locally (Upstate, SC) for $89.00 which include replacing all the stepper motors & calibrating the gauges to read correctly.

This will eliminate the problem. Make sure whoever you let replace you stepper motors has the knowledge to solder circuit boards with low heat and has done them before. Don't be a "Guinea Pig". This is a delicate fix and if someone doesn't know what they are doing, they will do more damage than you were already experiencing!
