How do you replace the bulb in the daytime running lights on a 2005 silverado pickup?

open your hood and look at the space directly above the headlight assembly. you will see an L-shaped metal rod about 1/4" in diameter and a couple of 5" long. look at how that rod is latched down and unlatch it. slide it out to one side (it can only slide out one way). this will unhinge the top headlite housing. tilt that housing out of the way. you will now be able to see the back side of the daytime running lite housing.

grab the back of the bulb where the wires connect and unscrew the whole assembly-bulb and wire connection. swap out the bulb with a new one and reinstall--everything in reverse of above.

In order to check the that the daytime running lights are working, make sure the parking brake is set first and then shift into "Neutral". The daytime running lights will not come on when the vehicle shifted to "Park".

=To properly flush the antifreeze on a 2002 Yukon you will need a antifreeze vacume system you will need to start the car and have it running turn on all the heating modules to high and have the car reved at about 1.5 r.p.m, or a little higher to activate the vaccume this will start sucking the old antifreeze out. It doesn't have a MAF sensor. It uses a MAP sensor. This is usually bolted to the back side of the upper intake plenum or to the firewall. It will have a plug with 3 wires and a vacuum line running to it. It's about 3" long and 1" wide..... Just unscrew the two screws holding it in, unplug the wires and vacuum line and replace with the new one.

Why does your gmc Yukon make clicking sounds when you turn?

My Yukon had the same problem. At first i thought it was the lifter, but i replaced those and it still kept clicking. I was looking into my engine one day and noticed there was a high heat bolt missing from a hole in my exhaust manifold. I replaced it with another high heat bolt and it stopped making the clicking noise. If you dont replace the bolt, the noise should stop after your engine gets hot and the metal starts to expand. Hope this helps!

How do you change fuel sending unit on 2000 gmc Yukon?

Yesterday I did this on a 2000 GMC Sierra, so it is probably about the same. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. When the tank is empty or almost empty you must drop the tank. The EVAP (the EVAP is a plastic box right in front of and against the tank) must be removed (1 bolt 13mm) then unplug the 2 smaller fuel lines from the EVAP and let it hang there.

Unscrew the 3 small bolts holding the fuel fill tube after removing the gas cap. Support the tank and loosen the 2 bolts that hold the tank straps (15mm). It will be easier to remove the tank straps, they slip in a "T" slot. You will need to loosen a vent line and the ground strap also since it is attached to the fill tube.

Disconnect the 2 fuel lines at the front of the tank (where the EVAP box was). Lower the tank and reach the top of the tank and disconnect both electrical connectors. The tank should be able to be removed from the vehicle now, you will need to snake the rubber fill tube out from above the frame and then under the vehicle.

After the tank is out clean all the dirt and debris from around the fuel pump/sending unit then loosen the twist lock and pull the pump/sender/float from the tank.

Swap out the variable resistor by disconnecting the connectors (they have plastic plug/locks). Swap the float to the new sending unit and then reverse the above procedures to re-install.

I was able to do this myself in about 2.5 hours, it would be easier and faster with a lift and a helper. I bought this sender (variable resistor) from EBAY for $26 shipped. If your pump is working okay there is no need to swap the whole pump/sender/float assembly. I think dealership will charge $500-600 for parts and labor to change the whole assembly only.

How do you replace the headlight bulb in a 2004 Yukon?

I can't give you the technical jargon, but let me give this a shot. First off, you don't need a screwdriver, so don't look for any screws. Open the hood and look straight down at the headlight assembly. On each side of the assembly, at the top, you will see what looks like the short end of a rather large Allen wrench. Turn both of these "L" shaped rods toward you, and then pull them straight up and out. They literally hold the headlight assembly in place. Pay attention to how they come out - they're a bit more difficult to put back than they are to get out. Once the rods are out the assembly can be popped out, and the bulb is easily replaced. Be sure not to touch the new bulb with your fingers. The oil from your hands can ruin it. At least that's what the guy from Auto Zone told me.

The key to replacing the assembly is aligning it properly so that the rods can slide easily back in place.
