What was Barack Obama's GPA at Occidental College?
College grades are not a matter of public record. Obama has not chosen to release his college transcripts.
I am not sure that his college grades have been released. However, I know that he was a mediocre student, more interested in football, drama and frat life, than in studying. He was never in danger of flunking out, but also did not get honors.
What was Michelle Obama's GPA?
Mr. Obama has not released his transcript, nor is he under any obligation to do so, since such documents are protected under federal law. But in his writings, he had admitted he was not the best student at that time: he was going through a period of teen-aged rebellion and was not entirely focused on his studies. Despite that, he seems to have had good enough grades to get accepted to Occidental College (which, according to its website, favors high SAT/ACT scores, and an impressive class ranking). He also got into Columbia University as a transfer student, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree; professors who recalled him in class said he was an "A" student.

Can you go from a 1.98 to a 2.5 GPA in one quarter?
That's going to depend on how many hours went into the 1.98,
and how many hours you can take in the new quarter.
I just worked it out quickly and can't guarantee that I'm right, but the result I get says
that on a 4-point grading system, in order to raise a 1.98 GPA to a 2.5 in one quarter,
you have to take a shade more that 1/3 as many hours in the new quarter as were in
the 1.98, and get straight A's in all of them.
