Gun control laws restrict the purchase and ownership of guns why?
Some people think that if they restrict your ability to buy an object you will change your behavior. In the real world, however, gun laws only increase gun violence, due to the law abiding citizens being unable to defend themselves against gun wielding criminals (who get THEIR guns illegally)

Is a pellet rifle considered a firearm?
Unfortunately there is no universal law about BB/ Air guns in California. Each city has their own regulations about air guns. You will have to check with the city to find out what their law is. In most cities (MOST) it's okay to shoot in your own back yard but I say check first. Pacifica may have a different ordnance than La Marada or another city so find out first.
You may want to check with other airgun shooters, like the CASA Association. see link

Does the 2nd Amendment give people the right to own assault weapons?
What do you mean, do you mean Brady Camp. Assault weapons like AR-15s, semi AKs, TEC9s, semi FN FALs, or the REAL Assault weapons like full auto AK47s, M16s, M4s, full auto Uzis, full auto TEC9s, like that?
Well, I think that the second amendment does grant that right, I believe its just fear that keeps them out of the hands of law abiding citizens.
But the 1994 Assault weapons ban was the most shameless gun control lie ever enacted, it was based on appearance. If they think that .223 is powerful, then surely .30-06 will be banned. Look at the efforts of the UN, watch the UN gun debate with Wayne Lapeire, and some Australian, they would ban any rifle that shoots over 200 yards, that's almost every single hunting rifle.
What was the aim of the 2nd amendment?
b.
to preserve the citizen soldier which was used in the Revolutionary War
What was the small local army made up of volunteer soldiers after the second amendment was written?
Militia.
That is why the Judicial Branch exists. With rights come responsibilities. If a person cannot accept responsibilities, it is in the public's best interest to relenquish that person of his rights. The courts make rulings to that end. The constitution is not ammended without good cause and, then, only after cautious deliberation.
What right is guaranteed in the Second Amendment to the Constitution?

The Second Amendment was added to the Constitution to?
Because during the Revolutionary War (Era Due to the writing of Constitution and Bill Of Rights) They allow the permission of owning guns to defend yourself.
What does shall not be infringed mean in the second amendment?
It means United States Citizens, have a god given right to keep and bear arms/guns. And the government CanNot make any Laws to infringe this right. Like freedom of speech? Reality: The FBI does a background check before you can buy a gun. You cannot carry that gun anywhere, you'll get arrested and your property stolen. If you're lucky enough to live in a state with consealed carry it's expensive and likely will not issue the permit. See Above-the sad truth is the second amendment is worthless, as thousands of laws INFRINGE on our right.
It means that the second amendment to the Constitution gives all citizens of the United States the irrevocable right to obtain, keep and bear arms, and this right shall NOT be infringed upon by ANYBODY.

Can states regulate a person's second amendment right to bear arms?
The second amendment trumps state law in many court findings. The 14th amendment, also called the Due Process Clause, obligates states and all levels of American government to operate within the law and provide fair procedures.
The Second Amendment has been selectively re-interpreted over the last 100 years or so, but not even the most fervent NRA member believes that it prohibits ANY gun control laws. Most people believe that gun control laws banning convicted criminals from owning firearms are completely reasonable. Gun opponents argue that all guns are dangerous and should be banned, while gun supporters believe that law-abiding citizens have a right to own guns. The plain text of the Second Amendment is pretty clear.
The recent "Heller" Supreme Court decision, and the current case of the Chicago gun bans have changed the outlook for gun control laws, and we won't know what the end result will be for some years.
Fourth amendment freedom of religion
What is the content of The Second Amendment of the US Constitution?

Can you get a gun permit with a DUI felony?
The basic answer is no. A felony of any kind precludes you from legally owning a gun, therefore, no state will issue a gun permit to a felon.
This statement is untrue.
Oh. I wasn't aware of that. Federal law 18 U.S.C. § 922 states the following: "...prohibits the shipment, transportation, receipt, or possession in or affecting interstate commerce of a firearm by one who: has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence; has been convicted of a felony, or any other crime, punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year."
The law does not differentiate between a DUI felony and any other felony. A DUI will not automatically preclude you from owning a gun or obtaining a permit in most states, however, A felony DUI will, because it is a felony. The only exception to that is a felon who has had his or her rights restored. That is not particularly easy to do, and judges normally only restore some rights, not necessarily all.
I have a Felony DWI that is 19 years old, I have had ALL of my rights restored without ANY firearm restrictions, also I was placed into the FBI'S VAF. I also hold a NYS CCW permit as well. Have a great night! :)
I didn't say it never happened. I implied that it wasn't that common. I know a whole bunch of people that were denied when trying to restore their rights.
Why is there debate over the exact rights guaranteed by the second amendment?
because the right to bear arms has been taken...overboard and people are going and using that right wrongly and doing bad things with it.
Why is the Democratic Party against the Second Amendment?
The Democratic Party is not against the Second Amendment, it is merely for gun control. The idea of gun control is that you shouldn't be allowed to own an AK, because the only reason to own an AK is to kill other people. Republicans usually charge that because Democrats are pro-gun control, that they are anti-second amendment, but those are two different things.
