What was the voyage of the St. Louis?
== == The St Louis sailed from Hamburg for Havanna on 13 May 1939 with 937 passangers on board. 907 of these were Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany. They all held what looked like valid entry visas (permits) issued by Cuba. Most of these visas were declared invalid by the Cuban authorities, and only 28 passengers were allowed to land. (There was a blazing row within the Cuban government as the Director of Immigration had been lining his own pocket with money he charged for entry). (Most of the refugees were hoping to spend 2-4 years in Cuba, and then go to the US when able to enter legally). There were repeated appeals to President Roosevelt and various other governments to accept the unfortunate passengers. In the end, Britain accepted 288, and France, Belgium and the Netherlands took in the rest. Those accepted by these last three countries came under Nazi control 12 months later ... Note. The assumption in the Wikipedia article that the whole saga was was deliberately masterminded by the German government is at odds with practically all other souces.
In the book Night what was NOT part of Hitler's three-fold plan to rid Europe of Jews?
The main reason is that they didn't want to know.
We discussed this in GREAT LENGTH in my English class, and here was what we got.
Yes, someone actually warned the town, but the guy who came in to warn everybody, Moishe the Beadle, wasn't all that influential. He was a "jack-of-all-trades" (meaning he had no real skills so he dabbled a bit in everything) and "lived in utter penury" -he was dirt poor. Look it up, it's the first page. Anyways, what would you do if the town bum came in and told you to pack up your comfortable life and hit the road because the sky was about to cave in? You would probably stay put too. That's basically the situation we have here. Moishe was without proof of the horrendous Nazi crime, and the Nazis themselves weren't exactly announcing their goings-on to the world.
And it's true, "they didn't want to know." Whatever chance the town had of hearing the truth in Moishe's warnings was dashed at the feet of their own reluctance to hear it.
Is it true that they would use the skin or body parts of Jews during the Holocaust to make products?
It was Irma Grese, Senior SS Supervisor who was hanged for her crimes on 13 December 1945. She was known as "The Lamp Shade Lady". Allegations of this nature were made against Irma Grese (as stated) at the Bergen-Belsen trial and also against Ilse Koch, the wife of the commandant of Buchenwald. However, they were not specifically charged with crimes relating to the use of human skin.

How did ideology of fascism contribute to the holocaust during world war 2?
To start, it should be noted that there's a difference between Fascism and Nazism. Although they are outwardly similar ideologies, one of the most striking differences between them is that Fascism did not feature the intense racism that characterized Nazism. In the early 1930s, before Fascist Italy allied with Nazi Germany, Benito Mussolini (Italy's Fascist leader) often criticized Adolf Hitler (Nazi Germany's leader) for his "pointless racism" and thought that Hitler was insane. Once they became friends and allies, Mussolini backed off on his criticisms.
Nazism, which is the ideology that actually led to the Holocaust, was intensely racist at its core; upon coming to power in 1933-34, Hitler enacted racist laws that institutionalized antisemitism- so racism was officially the law. The "Nuremberg Laws" stripped Jews of their German citizenship, and disallowed them from doing things like owning businesses or marrying Germans. Over time, the solution to the "Jewish Question" became to simply imprison Jews (and other "undesired" people) in concentration camps, where they would be enslaved and/or killed.
Fascist Italy initially did not really participate in the Holocaust. Although Mussolini stopped criticizing Hitler for his racism, he also did not do a lot to support it at first. While Germany had a long history of antisemitism, Italy did not- so antisemitic policies were not as popular there. Once World War II started, Italy's military quickly showed itself to be inadequate, and was unable to win in places like Greece and North Africa; Germany had to help. So as a favor to their friend, Italy started more strongly participating in the Holocaust.
By summer 1943, Mussolini had become very unpopular. Italy's war efforts were a total disaster, and Italy had lost her colonies in northern and eastern Africa; Allied troops had invaded Sicily and were preparing to invade Italy itself. German troops were occupying parts of Italy. And Mussolini's switch to adopting Nazi racism was not sitting well. Mussolini was thus overthrown by the Fascist party, and then the King of Italy (who had let Mussolini run the government) had him arrested. Italy then began talking to the Allies in order to surrender and then join them.
After German commandos successfully rescued Mussolini from prison, he was given a new country to rule- most of northern Italy was controlled by Germany's military, so it was renamed the "Italian Social Republic" and Mussolini became its leader. But Germany was actually in charge, and the Social Republic fully supported Germany's efforts to carry out the Holocaust. This lasted until the Allies drove out the German troops in April 1945, and then Mussolini was captured and killed by anti-Fascist rebels near the border with Switzerland.
Other ideologies that are considered very closely related to Fascism, notably Falangism (a form of Fascism that controlled Spain from 1939 to 1975), also did not heavily emphasize racism.
Why did European nations build huge militarys in the early 1900s?
The official term is 'militarism' and it occurred because of a massive rivalry between the rulers of Britain and Germany. King George V and Kaiser Wilhelm didn't exactly get along and they became very competitive in a number of areas to do with their countries: naval, economic and colonial rivalries to be precise. This is one of the main slower causes of World War One.
