Honda Accord DX

EX-L means it is an EX with leather interior. I know that sounds stupid, but that is what Honda told us when my mother purchased her EX-L. The badging still shows EX though!

Based on data for previous (2006) models, it will require around 4.5 quarts, but for the most accurate information, check your owner's manual. There should be a section in the manual with fluid capacities.

The 2002 Honda Accord 4 cyl (F23A) engine uses a timing belt. Besides the main timing belt, the car also uses a balance shaft belt, which looks like a mini timing belt. It's recommended that both those belts be changed at the same time.

If it's a 4-cylinder, it's right on the exhaust manifold close to the radiator. Sometime they'll sieze, but I haven't had one to. Use anti'sieze on the new one. Computer may have to be reset by a dealer or other service outlet. I've disconnected my negative battery terminal to do that before.... Look at your exhaust manifold. If there's a metal bolt-looking thing with a wire coming out the middle of it fairly close to the bottom flange, that's the oxygen sensor. (4-cylinder Accords have one exhaust manifold at the front of the engine; 6-cylinder Accords have another one behind it.) If you don't see this, you've got a carbureted car and, hence, no oxygen sensor. Start by unhooking your battery, then the one wire coming out of the sensor. Use an oxygen sensor socket to unscrew the old one. Put some antiseize on the new sensor, screw it in and torque it to 25 lb-ft. Hook up the oxygen sensor wire, then the battery, and you're done.

If it is an automatic transmission, then it should have a dipstick to check the fluid level. Depending on the make and model, the location of this dipstick will vary. If it is a manual transmission, then the fluid level really can't be checked and it will not have a dipstick.

Open the hood and locate the dipstick for the oil. Now, look around and find the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Now that you know what you are going to look at, start the engine, and let it idle in park. Pull the the transmission dipstick and check the level, being aware that there are two indicated 'full' marks, one for hot, and one for cold. This check should be done with the vehicle on a level surface. If more fluid is needed, it goes in the same hole that the dipstick does, so you will probably need one of those funnels with the really long neck. Be careful not to overfill the transmission.

Shifting of the automatic transmission should be smooth. Try changing the transmission oil and filter. If you take it to be done make sure you specify that you want the pan dropped and the filter replaced, as many places suck out the old fluid and do not change the filter.

Use only genuine Honda manual transmission fluid. It is Honda OEM part number 08798-9031.

Before 1996 it is acceptable to use 10W-30 motor oil, however, I would use the new specially formulated fluid which has additives to extend the life of your transmission. It will be money well spent.

First raise your cars front-end and securely it. Unplug and drain your oil out of the pan. Than just remove the bolts holding that pan in and sometimes you need to just a rubber mallet just gently knock the pan off ,for the gasket stick to it after awhile. And remember to clean off the old gasket off the pan and engine and replace. (NOTE- I am not sure if your suppose to just a sealant on the gasket or not,sorry)

In a place you ain't gonna believe.

Sit in your driver's seat. Look down at your left knee. Now, imagine a line running from the passenger seat back, through your knee, and ending on the side of the car. The PGM-FI main relay is at the end of that line. To get to it you have got to lay on your back in the driver's footwell, and look up under the dashboard.

And now you know why there are so many solder joint failures on PGM-FI main relay boards: there's no way cooling air can get up there. You could probably rig a little 12v muffin fan from a computer store to blow air on this board, and save yourself a LOT of grief.

The turn signal hazard relay is located in the left hand kick panel,in the fuse relay block. There are about 6 relays in block. should be in the bottom row, left side.

you have to unscrew the 2 screws that hold it in and then either pry (be careful) or slide the housing forward toward the road ahead...there are 2 slides with plastic guides that hold it in....always was a tricky little bugger. When you reassemble, put a little white grease on the slides, so next time wont be so hard to take off.

your a/c unit works your engine harder then not running it. it should not make it over heat, but if it does, check your antifreeze/ water mix in your ratiator, if the level is too low, this may be your problem, if it is fine, check your fan, make sure it is running correctly, you should hear it come on when your engine is getting hot. if this is also working fine, heck your radiator and make sure the fins on it arent bent in any way, a few bends are ok, but if 1/4 or more of it are bent, get a different radiator, lastly, check and make sure you dont have bugs clogging your radiator (this has happened to me)

Transformers are necessary to stepup or stepdown voltage levels so that transmission of power is convenient. without stepup/stepdown voltage level according to our requirement losses will be very high and transmission and usage of power is not feasible.

The 2013 Honda Accord has front wheel drive.

The replacement of the valve cover gasket is relatively similar on 4 and 6 cylinders engines.

Remove the nuts on the valve cover, tap the side of the cover to break it free. It is a good practice when you replace the valve cover gasket to also replce the grommets for the valve cover nuts as well.

Clean each surface of the head and valve cover, usually wiping with a clean cloth will do. Sometimes you might have some silicone to remove, either way make sure you have clean & dry surfaces before placing the new gasket on the head.

Tighten the valve cover nuts snug, then go back and give them a final torque (my '95 accord torque spec is 7.2 ft. lbs).

The steering wheel's locking mechanism can sometimes screw with the ignition swtich. Try jerking the wheel back toward neutral while starting. Also check to see if the tires are aligned.

Haynes says that the four speed auto, needs no regular checking unless you you encounter shifting problems that point to a leak. If so, they suggest having a professional take care of it. (it's a plug in the transmission body that needs to be removed to check the level.) The 3 speed autos have a dipstick. Check the fluid by warming the car to operating temperature, shifting through all the gears and ending up in park. With the car still running, check the dipstick and adjust fluid level if necessary.
