How do you fix a leak behind the oil filter housing on a 92 Honda prelude?
The piece behind the oil filter is an oil cooler I believe. My 92 prelude had the same problem. There is a O ring behind the oil cooler. To remove the oil cooler, first remove the oil filter. Now follow the threads back on where the oil filter screws on, there should be a large bolt. The bolt on mine was pretty tough and required a large socket. I think I rented one from autozone, there are normally for removing drive axle bolts, don't remember the size though. Once the oil cooler is removed - replace the o-ring. There should be some lines that attach to the oil cooler that allow antifreeze to go through, but I don't remember if those had to be removed or not, it was about 8 years ago that I did this.

Why does Avalanche abs warning light?
most likely something wrong with you brakes
I had the ABS light appear, then it would not shift out of 1st gear, then the speedometer did not work, over a period of weeks.
THE FIX.. A MOUSE ATE THROUGH THE SPEED SENSOR WIRES. (WIRES FROM IN BACK OF THE DISK BRAKES THROUGH THE HOLE NEAR THE SHOCK ABSORBERS.
How do you adjust your speedometer after changing sizes of tires on a 98 prelude?
Many speedometer shops do it routinely. If it off significantly, they change the little gear in your trans that turns the cable. It's od determines ratio which determines what you see. I have heard a digital is easier but no adjustment can be made until it is determined how far off yours is by running on a dynomometer type machine. If tire size is close to original, discrepancy is negligible.

Which Honda motor can you get the most horsepower out of?
The Honda K-series engines, particularly the K20 and K24 variants, are known for their high horsepower potential. With the right modifications, such as a turbocharger or performance tuning, these engines can easily exceed 300 horsepower. Additionally, the Honda J-series V6 engines also offer significant power potential, especially in models like the J35, which can be tuned to deliver impressive performance. Overall, the K-series is often favored for high horsepower builds in the Honda community.
Yes but dont, the accord motor is garbage so is the trans. Do a k motor from a type s, or get a 99 h22 w Jan prelude trans it should be cheaper than the accord and far far better way to go. LudeKrs

Can you use a 89 Honda Prelude to restore a 87 Honda Prelude?
yes, the parts are interchangeable
Edit by an 86 Prelude owner: note that an 89 prelude is the 3rd generation, and the 87 is a second generation, for body mouldings and panels they are not perfectly interchangeable, many of the parts from an 89 prelude will not fit an 87, Honda is notorious for changing little details that make things just incapable of fitting a seemingly similar car. the late 80's Accords and 84-88 Preludes will share many parts, but the 89-91 Prelude will not offer you a whole lot.
