How do you add text in Photoshop?

There are two ways of doing this.

The easiest (but less powerful) way of doing it is to click and drag a box with the text tool. All text typed into it will stay within the box.

If the text overflows the box however, you will see a small '+'

sign in the bottom right hand corner and the overflowed text will remain invisible.

The alternative method which is much more powerful, as you are not restricted to rectangular boxes only is to use the shapes tool (rectangle tool for columns obviously). Make sure that you are only creating paths (the leftmost button on the top tool bar).

Once you have created the columns, click the text tool, and click inside the path. You will notice the cursor changes (don't click on the path, as that will make the text follow the path itself, rather than being contained within it).

The advantage of this method is that you can create any shape you like and the text will flow only within the shape. For instance, if your page layout had text running next to a picture of a person against a plain background, you could use the pen tool to roughly trace around the person, and the text would flow around the person's shape.

However. The best piece of software for doing typesetting is Adobe InDesign. You can create columns (or text areas) and set up 'flows', so that the text automatically flows into the next column.

Which has a larger file format JPEG file or tiff file?

These are different file formats. jpeg uses a lossy compression algorithm. Tiff can use a lossless algorithm (the compression algorithithm can be defined for each image).
TIFF is a flexible, adaptable file format for handling images and data within a single file, by including the header tags (size, definition, image-data arrangement, applied image compression) defining the image's geometry. For example, a TIFF file can be a container holding compressed (lossy) JPEG and (lossless) PackBits compressed images. A TIFF file also can include a vector-based Clipping path (outlines, croppings, image frames). The ability to store image data in a lossless format makes a TIFF file a useful image archive, because, unlike standard JPEG files, a TIFF file using lossless compression (or none) may be edited and re-saved without losing image quality. This is not the case when using the TIFF as a container holding compressed JPEG. Other TIFF options are layers and pages, neither are supported by JPEG.

How can you determine the size of a jpeg file?

Answer

You can usually try to find the file in your respective file browser, right click it and click on "Properties". Alternatively you can select it and press Alt + Enter. On most operating systems, this will pop up a window that tells you how large the file size is.

This is an operation that can be done on any file, not just a JPEG.

What is the size of a bitmap image?

It depends on the image dimensions (width, height) and on the color depth. Basically the size of the bitmap, because of lack of compression, is file header + (color palette - optional, only if palette based) + width * size * bytes per pixel.

What does GIF stand for?

When referring to .gif images, the gif stands for Graphic, or Graphics Interchange Format.

What are the disadvantages of bitmap graphics and vector graphics?

bitmap is a raster image which is anything with lots of detail while a vector is an image that is made up of geometric shapes and therefore can be manipulated in ways in which is keeps its detail. raster images vary depending on resolution and can only be made bigger if they have a higher resolution while vectors can scale without regards to resolution as they are made of geometric primitives. Simple things use vector while more complete images are usually raster/bitmap.

Where can one find a free photo editing software online?

Picnik or lunapic are great free web based (nothing to download) editing tools. If you need/want more features downloading GIMP is a great options. There are also free tools to add text blurbs, to make collages, to put your photo into other images. There are a number of tools that allow you to put the image of a face into other photos for some fun creations. Also, you could try Paint net.

Of these two downloads, I like GIMP better, but it's really Linux oriented (shares Linux UI styling), not that it's a bad thing. however.... I do have Both of them installed, just cause Paint net has filters that GIMP does not have.

What are the types of images?

Types of images are:

1.Compressed image

2.RGB image (True Color Image & has 3 pixels )

3.RGBA image (True Color Image & has 4 pixel or more )

4.Grayscale image (Black & White)

5.Palette image (16 colors per pixel )

All i want is to " Like" ! Thanks !

How many pictures can 10MB hold?

The answer to your question will depend on the type of camera, how you are storing the files and how complex the images are. In general, you should be able to get about 200-225 pictures on a 1GB memory card, assuming that you are saving the files in JPEG format. Saving in RAW format will reduce the number of pictures. Since JPEG is a compressed file format, the files will vary in size based on how complex the pictures are. So the total number of pictures that you can get on a card will vary based on how well the JPEG compression algorithm is able to compress your photos.

How do you minimize JPEG files?

Jpeg files are compressed using a lossy algorithm. The resulting file size and the compression time depend on the parameters of the algorithm. Most common in digital cameras is to trade size for time (weaker compression and a quick response of the camera).

You can re-size the images using any program that supports jpeg (even MS Paint) by opening them and saving them again to your hard drive. Do not overwrite the original before making sure that the results are ok. Some programs like photoshop, irfanview, gimp support also detailed parametrization of the jpeg algorithms.

A better solution is to use an image converter (I suppose here you ask how to reduce the size of taken photographs). Many image converters support batch resizing of all images in one step, fine control of all jpeg parameters, optional re-size of the image in order to reduce the file size even more. I can recommend AZImage as a representative tool of this category (supports everything mentioned, it is easy to use and has a trial period). See the related links.

How can you improve your pictures using Photoshop?

If the picture started very small, you might not have much to go on. Changing the resolution size might help, though. Go to Image->Image size (alt-ctrl-l) and find the box that says 'resolution'. Enter a value that is at least 2000. Check the results.

On which websites can you edit the size of an image?

Picnik.com it's a very pretty way to edit pictures. and also try Imagechef.com :) hope you like. :]

How do you put pictures together?

you can open it onto paint, and then when its on there you extend the size so half is white and half is the picture, then you right click and hit "paste from..." and put on the other picture unlike Nal4189 here said opening it onto paint does not make it look like you are actually there with the person or thing it makes it look very fake.

How do you put two pics in one Photoshop?

I'm assuming you mean like photo-manipulation. Photo-manipulation is pretty much the same thing as putting two different pictures into one whole one. If you mean putting them side by side then what you need to do is open them both in photoshop and measure them both out and then open a new document with both the sizes included. example(1): Open a 100x100 pixel-inch image and a 420X360 pixel-inch. If you want the two to be exactly identical then you will need to use the crop tool on the larger image to scale it down. Select what you want with the crop tool and then scale it down by hitting the ENTER key. (it's actually one of my favorite tools) then when you have it down to a decent size (or if you decided not to scale down) open your new file with the size of the two added in. 420x460 (since the height really won't matter in this case. Just go with the larger height. Width is what you want to worry about). then what you do is cut and paste the two items into your new picture. As for photo-manipulation, I'm not an expert on that. But I do know someone who is. go to http://night-fate.deviantart.com She is a good friend of mine and has many tutorials on photo-manipulation. (She's a professional.) I hope you found what you're looking for. I would go with the web address though. It's highly recommended.

What is a flattened image?

A flattened image has only one layer. After the image is flattened, it has the same appearance it had before. The difference is that all of the image contents are in a single layer without transparency. If there are any areas which are transparent through all of the layers of the original image, the background color is visible. By flattening an image we introduce significant changes to the structure of the image. It is normally only necessary when you would like to save an image in a format which does not support levels or transparency (an alpha channel).

What is Paint Shop Pro used for?

Paint Shop Pro is an image manipulation software utility. It usually comes with several different `filters' (effects capabilities, etc) and effects to allow you to do some very interesting things to your picture files.

Best thing to do is look it up on the 'net to get the full details.

- To stay on topic of what the program "is" would be to describe what it is popular for doing. I would like to add that Paint Shop Pro is popular for allowing you to work in "Layers"

Working in layers as an example:

Layer 1 = Sky Layer 2 = Grass Layer 3 = Tree Layer 4 = Grass to cover tree base Layer 5 = Flower growing out of the ground around the tree base

The program is also known for "PSP Tubes" which are images with transparent backgrounds, that are used in the way you would use a stamper. Tubes can be saved in the picture tubes folder for future use. The program is also popular for image manipulation such as "Make-overs" where you can edit a family photo to enhance the features of ones eyes, lips, and even make them appear thinner or heavier. Paint Shop Pro allows you to work with Vectors and Rasters.

What is edge detection?

Edge detection generally applies to a square wave signal, such as a clock pulse or a trigger pulse. Then the edge detection comes from either using the rising voltage, or the falling voltage of the signal (usually a square wave) to trigger the next event. Using the falling voltage implies a delay in the signal and the rising pulse to trigger an immediate `step` in the circuit.

How do you make the color peach?

What compression formats are used for image?

Compression methods are used for images compression and most common compressions are JPEG which is lossy (you can lost some details or quality of image), LZW which is lossless, RLE and ZIP also lossless compressions.

How do you import videos to movie maker?

Camera video is usually in .MOV format which is not compatible with Windows Movie Maker. This does not mean you can't get it into the program though. What you need to do is upload the camera video to your computer first.

Now, download a Video Converter. I've posted a URL to the Koyote Soft Free Video Converter 2.3 (the one I use) below. Copy and paste it into your address bar:

http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html

Go to the site and download the Free Video Converter 2.3from the download list. Once you have the converter downloaded and installed, open the program.

On the top left you will see an icon that says 'Add files'... click on it. Now, locate the camera video you uploaded (that needs to be converted). As soon as you click on it you will notice it appears in the collection pane with a check-mark beside it.

Next, choose your 'Output Format' by clicking on the tab and selecting one. Windows Movie Maker uses any one of the following video formats:

.asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, .wmv

I tend to convert to .avi or .mpeg for use in Movie Maker, but any one of them will do.

Now you need to select your 'Output Path' which is where the newly converted video will be "saved to." A wise idea is to choose the Desktop as an output path for easy access. You can always move the files later.

Click on 'Convert video' in the top left menu. You should be able to see the camera video actually being converted in the viewing pane (if the option is selected). Once the video has been converted successfully, open Windows Movie Maker and import the file.

If you have chosen a file name extension (format) from the compatibility list above to convert the file, you should now be able to import and edit the video in Windows Movie Maker.

Just remember though, you will need to convert all video from the camera in the future should you wish to use it in Windows Movie Maker.

What is one difference of RGB and CMY colore model?

In short: CMYK is subtractive color mostly used in print, while RGB is additive color mostly used in display graphics.

The name of the CMYK color model stands for Cyan (a pale blue) Magenta (a hot pink), Yellow, and Key (or black).

The name of the RGB color model stands for Red, Green, and Blue.

CMYK, or 'four color printing', is what is called a 'subtractive' color model, because it starts with white - such as paper - which is the combination of all colors, and filters of subtracts out those colors not wanted by the application of colored dyes or inks.

Putting, for instance, a cyan lens in front of a white light, or cyan ink on a sheet of white paper, will prevent other wavelengths of light from passing through the lens or reflecting back from the paper. Using combinations of these ink colors in varying amounts will produce the various colors needed for a picture or graphic. Equal amounts of yellow and cyan, for instance, produce a standard, medium green.

Key black is added to the four color printing process because the combination of cyan, magenta, and yellow in practice produce a 'black' that looks more like a dark muddy brown.

RGB is called an 'additive' color model because it starts with the absence of light or color - black - as one would find in a television screen or computer monitor with no power, and adds light in colors as needed.

As with CMYK (and other color models) the combination of these colors in varying amounts creates the secondary and tertiary colors desired for more complex images.

See the links below for more exhaustive information on RGB and CMYK color models.
