What is the Difference between Gibson Les Paul and sg?

Les Pauls are much heavier give a thicker sound and only have one cutaway. SGs have double cutaway horns, allow easier access to very high frets, are much lighter, and have different tone qualities. Personally, I prefer a les paul. I hope this answered your question, there are more differences but this is general i could do a better comparison if you asked about two differing models

Where can you buy a Cortley Guitar?

Cortley guitars were sold and distributed by Southland Musical Merchandising Corporation of Greensboro,NC, Maxwell Meyers of Dallas, TX , and Harris Fandel of Massachusetts in the early 1970's and mid 1980's. The former sales managers of Southland Music stated their import agent was Jack Westheimer, and that the Cortley name was owned by Southland. In a telephone interview with Mr. Westheimer he indicated he did not remember the Cortley name in particular. He stated Westheimer Corporation had many different "stencil brands" manufactured in Japan for companies like Southland.

In the early 70's Westheimer was having a lot of instruments made at the same factories in Japan that produced other popular brands such as Ibanez, Cortez, Kingston, Terada, and Teisco for example. Therefore Cortley could have been made there or in different plants, depending on which one could handle the work order. Former sales rep Ed Rider stated that Terada and Daion were two of the factories he remembered that made Cortley.

There were one or two models that were labeled made in USA. Information indicates they were made exclusively for Southland by a private manufacturer in the US, who did not produce under any other label.

As a side note, The US Patent and Trademark Office shows the name Cortley was first used in commerce 6-6-74, was registered 11-22-78, and cancelled 10-23-84. The name Cortez was first used in commerce 3-12-67, registered 6-11-85 by Westheimer Corp, and is still active. Submitted by Rick Clymer

How much is a 1982 Gibson les paul custom worth?

Right now as of (11/4/2011) every indicator and sales place on the internet is putting a price tag of $2500 for a 68 Gibby LP custom.

Keep in mind that the vintage guitar market is very fickle - while the value probably wont change much but it will go up and down over time.

What is the value of a 1988 Gibson sg?

That all depends on the shape that it is in. A straight neck, no chips, dents, etc.. Original Pick ups on it will increase help keep the guitars value. Refinishing this guitar will actually make it worth less. This was the first year Gibson reissued the 62 SG. The neck is slim and the guitar is lightning fast. I have one. I bought it 30 years ago for $349.00. Then the Les Paul Standard was $350.00 only a dollar more! I would not even think of parting with my SG. So it is priceless. I have had offers a few years ago of $4,00.00 - $5,000. Excellent condition. One owner.

What would be the value of a Haines Brother Cabinet Grand piano made in 1911?

Right up front, I really have no idea. Because of its age its value will be in its style, finish and condition rather than as a musical instrument. Values vary quite a bit. Your piano technician can probably do some checking for you; you will have the serial number of the piano, and your technician knows very well the style and condition. I'd love to see a picture of it, but I don't think that is possible in this forum.

What is the value of a Wurlitzer with the serial number 1166592?

You gave the brand, but you need to post the name if it has one and model.

It is very hard to track the serial number. I think you will get a much better answer if you post those along with the serial.Don't forget that if you got hundreds around your area you might get thousands in others, now with e-bay. The only other thing I see on the piano is the number 1610 in the wood

Sorry, when you answer back I do not get a flag to let me know. Try looking,on the back, inside all around, underneath, for a name.

Is the Hohner electric violin a quality instrument?

Yes, unfourtnantly they are out of production. The style was a little different from fender's electric violin's models but it still had the same quality sound for a cheaper price.

How much would a lowrey organ model d325 be worth?

Not much, as this monster is expensive to move around. In other words, you have to help purchaser with the shipment. There is one person in Finland who might want to purchase it, but you have to ship to Finland. Please email leppalammi (a) Yahoo.com

How much is a fake Stradivarius violin that is over 100 years old worth?

I remember my first violin was a used one (though in good condition), and it came with all the necessities (such as a cleaner, and resin). It cost around $150. I'm sure you can get one for around $70 at the cheapest. But overall some violins can get pretty expensive as you require a better violin.

What is the difference between a Gibson Les Paul and an Epiphone Les Paul?

Epiphone is to Gibson what squier is to fender. A 'sister' company. Despite this, epiphone were producing instruments before Gibson, but that doesn't matter. High end Gibson instruments are produced in America, as opposed to epiphones which i believe are built in Korea. Gibsons generally feature slightly differing specifications in terms of dimensions and weight. Gibsons also feature higher quality parts, as youd expect from the much higher price. This is not to say that epiphones are bad instruments at all - i have one and it is fantastic. The name on the headstock also alters the price.

How much is my Nikolaus Amatus fecit in Cremona 1614 violin worth?

I have a similar label on my violin except the date reads 1726. These violins were made in Germany quite possibly Mittenwald, in the 1880s. The instrument if fixed properly and in good working condition should sound a lot better than the cheap merchandise that's being made today. You might want to bring it to a professional luthier for evaluation. Here is the link for an auction a few years back for a violin with nearly the same label.

I hope this answers your question. Good luck.

What would a good age be to learn guitar?

around fourteen years old?

The best age to start a rock band is... whenever you feel your ready! It's always a good age to get into music, especially rock music! It's one of my favorite genres, besides deathcore (a sub-genre of Metal, which in turn is a sub-genre of Rock), and I think you could learn a lot from the experience. Have fun and send me a message when you've thought of a good band name! And if you want i could send you some of the music that my band has made. Good luck!

What is the value of a 1956 Wurlitzer Centennial Juke Box?

Although they are antiques, they were made by the proverbial "gazillions". If you pay $1.50 for 1 bona fide "rare" record u r close to paying too much. ******* Oh gosh yes. I agree! You can find the red Columbias by the truck load. Even the blue Columbias and Flag Columbias of the 20's are just everywhere. The two major companies of the time were Victor and Columbia and their records are all over the place. Even in mint condition they are only worth about a dollar or two. I wouldn't pay more than that. But now as years go by and they get more scarce, the price may go up but I wouldn't hold my breath for another 50 years or so. The high price stuff comes in the rare jazz and blues records of the 1920's and the black R&B and doo-wop records of the mid 1950's.

How much would a Lowrey Organ Model Ls be worth?

Re The Heritage Valve Organ, There are a number of electronic problems due to the age of this fine instrument, i would say that if you could find an immaculate model in mint condition it would probably fetch upwards of £750. a model in average condition but playable should fetch around £500. In There day they were a great Jazz organ and still rock, especially with a suitable Leslie.

What is the value of a 1952 Wurlitzer 1500 jukebox?

These machines were extemely complex and unreliable in the field. They are NOT for the first-time jukebox collecor. If the machine is omplete but not working I would say no more than $500. If it works, even somewhat, probably $1000 or so. I would recommend a project like this for the veteran collector who has the "grit" and stamina to tacke this beast. It weighed in at a hefty 470 pounds.
