What is the cost of replacing or repairing the action of a piano?
Repairing or replacing the parts in the action can depend on several factors:
1. Is the piano a grand or upright piano?
2. What is the name of the piano?
3. What is the serial number (See related link)
4. To what level are you interested in repairing the action?
With that information, contact a piano restoration company and they will be able to determine an approximate cost.
What are the best nylon strings for a acoustic guitar?
If you're used to nylon strings, you'll find at first that steel strings can hurt your left hand finger tips and if you're playing without a pick you might even tear off some skin of your thumb (you'll have to go at it pretty hard to actually hurt yourself like that, though).
Additionally, steel strings are much thinner, and without callused skin on your left hand it might not be possible for you to press them down all the way at first.
Once you're used to it, playing steel strings is no harder or easier than nylon.

What is larger version of a bassoon?
A contrabassoon, also known as a double bassoon. It plays an octave lower than a regular bassoon. Hope this helped! xx
The three basic parts to a xylophone are the bars, the resonators, and the frame. The bars are made of wood (most commonly rosewood or padouk) or synthetic materials. This is the part of the instrument that is actually hit with a mallet to produce sound. The resonators are the tubes underneath each bar. These amplify the vibration of each bar and result in the sound we hear when the instrument is played. The frame is the rest of the instrument that includes the legs and base that the bars and resonators sit on.

What do you do if piano keys don't play?
Is this an acoustic piano, that requires no electronics? Or, an electic keyboard? The acoustic needs maintenance work. Loosen the mechanics, that type of thing. The wood might be warped. The electric needs a connection or something turned on. If it's a real piano, call a piano tuner, they do repairs. If it's electric in any way, you need either a shop that fixes keyboards or a new keyboard.
Oboe reeds can break about once or twice a week sometimes. They are very delicate! It really depends on how much you play it, I recently droped mine, and it broke after 3 days! - jona
if your reeds are breaking that much, you're not being very careful with it. my reeds usually last around 3 weeks. They in that time get tiny chips occasionally (from teeth or just sometimes it happens) but it will still play. oboe reeds are expensive (about 10 dollars, some up to 15) so if you're breaking them that much, that's a LOT of money.
-michelle Well...it mostly depends how often you drop them. Or let your friend's oboe slide onto the floor reed-first. Or drive it into the ground because you forgot to take it out before cleaning it. haha, reeds are evil. mine can last up to a month, but you should hear me or one of my fellow oboists gasp in horror every time we drop a reed. and yeah, they'll often work even with a chip, but don't count on it. i usually only keep a reed for about 2 weeks, because i like the brand-new ones. -Myrl-
Where can you get rogue bass guitar tuner keys?
Rogue basses are famous for failing tuner keys. When you find some, i recommend you buy a full set of four (or five) trust me, you will end up replacing them all sooner or later anyway.
Below I will provide links to a few sites which sell replacement tuning mechanisms. You don't necessarily need (or want) rogue-brand replacements... They are pretty standard across the various types, just find the ones which look most like the ones you have now & order that.

It depends on how many dents, where they are located, and how deep. Many can be pounded out and the instrument relacqueres. But if there are too many; then you will need to buy a new trumpet!!!
Actually it's not as bad as you think. Depending on what part of the trumpet the dent is in, it can be a little trouble; but if the valves move it's not too bad. Any dent anywhere on the trumpet can be fixed, it just depends on the area the dent is located that will determine the price of how much the dent will cost to take out and the brand on the trumpet to determine whether it is worth it or not. For example, a Martin Commitee, Bach Strad, Yamaha Xeno, etc. It would definitely be worth it. Also, older trumpets that may look like pieces of junk but play like Gold.
Why is the third valve on your trumpet making my notes sound weird?
The third valve alone increases the length of tubing by about the same amount as both the first and second valves combined. On a Bb trumpet this can produce: A, E, C# Note that if you try to use third valve alternate fingerings, your pitch will tend to be flat.

How do you intonate an electric guitar?
Electric guitars are played in the same manner as acoustic guitars. The guitar works because magets underneath the strings, in between the end of the neck and the bridge, detect the vibration of the strings as they're played. These magnets (called pick-ups) move in sympathy with the strings, which allows the signal to be converted from a kinetic signal into an electric one. This signal passes through controls inside the guitar (which are controlled via 'pots' on the guitar body) which control the tone and volume of the signal, as it leaves the guitar via the jack.
