If your children have already been adopted can you still get them back?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If "taken away" means the the court permanently terminated parental rights or parental rights were voluntarily relinquished making the child eligible for adoption, then the answer is no; the biological parent(s) have no legal rights of any sort to the child. However, if the adoptive parents can voluntarily agree to the visitation of a biological parent without there being any action on the part of the court.

Can you adopt a child that has a legal guardian?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

you become a child's legal guardian in cases for example if the parents can't look after their child for any reason they have appointed you!

(1) if the child's parents have died and they have left in their will that you will be the child's legal guardian (you have to approve this ) you could also be the child's emergency guardian until the will is read out this can change if you have started for example you have started having health matters since the will has been drawn up then this could come into question the child's welfare is very important .

(2) when you want to adopt the child that's been in your care you will need to go throught the right channels what is considered is how you and the child get on are you giving the child the right upbringing remember the child's welfare always comes first you will stand a good chance seen as the child knows you and they will have come to love you like you were their own parent/s it would be very difficult to deny you from adopting any child that's legally in your care unless there are underlying issues in the household

i am not a judge in a court

you would be asked why you want to adopt the child and if for example if you don't already have children when you do have them how will that effect the child you want to adopt IE would you still love and care for this child as much as your own.

a judge isn't always easy going but these issues do arise

also if you are a single person and you suddenly meet a man/woman what affect would that have on the child would the child still come first? everything comes into question

i am not questioning your abilities as a parent or legal guardian but you would have to prepare yourself for some questions like this

hope this has answered your question

How can you find your sister who was adopted about 30 years ago?

User Avatar

Yes - contact Centre Analytics. 888.420.7641.

There mostly do research for clients like the Department of Defense, but will take on special projects occasionally like this for a minimal fee. They put their Military strength resources to work and make this type of research/investigation seem like child's play. They generally do it for you while you wait on the phone if you have the basic data for the sibling or child.

What are some reasons Americas adopt children from another country?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If a couple wants a baby adopting isn't as easy as you think and there are many rules and regulations that come with the U.S. Adoption Agencies. Age is a factor; sometimes the fact you aren't married and living together; and also if you are gay. I have gay friends in the States (both females) and they have adopted two children successfully from other countries. They are fantastic parents and spend every weekend with good quality time with their children. To the children it's just two women in a house raising them and when the time comes they intend on telling the children. It' about how much love you have for a child. Some people just love children and have an open heart and may have 2 - 3 children of their own, but are able to adopt a child of any age just to have them in their home and give them a chance in life. You may not remember Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, but they were the couple that really first started to adopt children of all races and were extremely successful at raising well adjusted children because they had a great relationship between them. Some people (if they can afford it) will go through certain lawyers to adopt a baby. Other times some childless couples may adopt a relatives child because of death of the biological parent or the biological parent doesn't want the baby. Blood is thicker than water.

Do you have to be emancipated in order for someone to adopt you?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The majority of US states do not allow the emancipation of minors.

Those states that have emancipation procedures rarely grant such rights. If a decree is granted it can be rescinded at any time for any reason before the minor reaches the state's age of majority.

The minimum age for filing an emancipation petition in states that have status is 16.

The issue of adoption would not be relevant if the minor meets all other requirements.

How can you tell your parents that you want to be adopted?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Very gently, it would break my heart if my child would want to be adopted by someone else. Im assuming that you dont have a good relationship with your parents to even consider this. If that is the case did you ever think of family counseling to get to the root of the problem. If you've done that or neither of you are interested in this option then depending on your age, underage, with their consent of course. Go down to your local court house and see the civil clerk to get the proper papers to move forward. Good luck

Is a child born in Canada with both parents Canadians who were adopted at one year by a USA couple a Canadian citizen?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Good question. At one time the USA supported dual citizenship but not anymore. I was born in West Germany by American parents and have this designation. I would speak to the Canadian consulate and ask about this. I would think that a child born in Canada would be a Canadian citizen irregardless of the fact they were adopted. Same goes for illegal aliens in the US. They may be here illegally yet if their child is born in the states becomes an automatic US citizen.

How many babies were given up for adoption?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

That depends on the year, month, day etc. Are you wanting to know how many for this year only? If so then visit Adoption Crossroads, a site owned and operated by Joe Soll, he has a running tally of children adopted that increases hourly at the top of his site's header.

All time... its hard to say because the govt. won't release those statistics. You also need to take into consideration if they are international, domestic or private or foster care adoptions. So many different things to take into consideration its hard to say.

My estimate is definitely into the millions of all time, for SURE.
