Is Conservapedia the same as Wikipedia?
Wikipedia is a generalized wiki. It has no specific focus. Conservapedia is a conservatism wiki. If you ask me, a wiki based on one specific religious, moral, or political ideal is going to be biased, especially towards that ideal. So Conservapedia will be biased towards conservatism, even if what the wiki says is actually true.
Then again, Wikipedia can be biased too. Like where it says that almost everyone is an atheist that believes in evolution. Any real poll will show you that religion is by far more popular with humanity than atheism, but atheists, as well as all other supporter of religions and ideals, will do whatever they can to feel as popular as possible. Even if they were popular, that doesn't make atheism true, so why are they lying about it? Because humanity's nature is to try to convert everyone to what they feel like believing, even if they themselves don't actually truly believe it. By the way, I'm not trying to disprove atheism or even say that I believe it's not true. I'm just saying that even if it was true, the followers still twist information to make themselves feel that much more valid.
I'm digressing here, but it's kinda like if you and your special-ed cousin are hired to promote a luxury car. You're gonna describe the car with things like leather heated seats, internal GPS, great steering, traction, and acceleration, and your special cousin is going to describe it as "it's a car. Uuuuuh... It's red. It moves fast..." Does that mean the car sucks because your cousin sucks at communicating about it or proving points? No. The car is still a good luxury car, regardless of what people say. It's the same about ideals. It doesn't matter if people twist facts and lie and are bad at explaining their ideals-- if an ideal is true, it's true. So if atheism is true, people are gonna lie for either side. And if religion is true, people are gonna lie for either side. This is just an example.
All that just to say that although all wikis are biased, Conservapedia's only gonna be more prone to biasedness than Wikipedia because of it's centering around a single ideal.

What are characteristic of research?
Phase 1
- Observation and question
- Conjectures
Phase 2
- Hypothesis
- Prediction
- Experimentation
Phase 3
- Peer review
Observation, Question and Conjecture
The first phase represents the transit of the real and physical into the sphere of intellect.
It is said that when Isaac Newton observed an apple falling, it led him to question what mechanism was at work. This in turn led him to consider various conjectures and to conduct an examination of the ideas of other researchers from across the world, both contemporaneous and past. From the numerous conjectures he was able to distil and select the most likely explanation for his observation.
This is the way in which scientific advance proceeds. First an observation is made, then a careful consideration of what has been observed and the distillation of a plausible explanation.
Hypothesis, Prediction and Experimentation
The second phase represents the return from the sphere of intellect into the real and physical.
The distillation of ideas results in a hypothesis, which in the case of Newton's gravitational theory was a mathematical model of objects falling under the influence of gravity.
In order for a hypothesis to bear scrutiny, it must be able to accurately predict what will happen under a given set of circumstances. These predictions must then be checked by careful experimentation. When prediction and experiment reach the same conclusion, the hypothesis is borne out; when they do not the hypothesis must be revised to accommodate the findings of the experiment The process of experiment and refinement continues until the predictions concur with the experiment or it becomes clear that they do not. Once concurrence has been achieved, the researcher is ready to proceed to the final phase. Otherwise the hypothesis must be abandoned and the researcher may choose to return to phase 1.
Peer Review
The final phase is the transit of the hypothesis into the broad circulation of scientific ideas.
It begins with the publication of the observation, the hypothesis and the experimental methods and results. At this stage other experimenters will attempt to reproduce the findings. This process may equally result in the revision or abandonment of the hypothesis. If the bulk of the experimenters are in agreement on the hypothesis, it is accepted into scientific literature as a finding. After a certain period of time and repeated experimentation a hypothesis may be promoted to the status of a Law. If they are not in agreement the hypothesis may be abandoned.
Is answer-com the most crap website ever?
Not really. Some of the content is really good, and some leaves a lot to be desired. Similar is true on other answer type sites. So it depends on the questions you ask, the online culture around certain ideas, and who the exact contributors are.
Why do we do applied research?
Applied research tries to solves a particular problem. Like how can we make a better widget. Research funds are allocated and the scientists are usually expected to have an answer by the end of the project and is often expected to show a profit. Pure research is science for just finding something new without knowing what that will be. The Hubble space telescope is a good example of that. Pure research leads to new discoveries. Applied research tries to make practical uses for some of those discoveries. Pure research discovered something called Giant magnetoresistance applied research turned that discovery into a hard disc drive that can hold thousands of songs, movies and pictures.
Advantages of scientific research?
Scientific research provide factual evidence to questions that scientists have. The research can lead us closer to mysteries about the world and galaxies.
What is value of qualitative research?
Qualitative data provides context and meaning.
Qualitative research methods are able to explore the complexity of human behavior and generate deeper understanding of illness behaviors and therapeutic interactions. Nevertheless, there is still a sense of distrust of qualitative research, related to the challenge of evaluating both the quality and usefulness of findings derived through qualitative methods.

In the movies I've seen some agency usually has a very fuzzy picture of a car. They zoom in on the license plate and you can barely tell where the license plate is. Then they "enhance" or something and suddenly you can easily read it.
THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE.
What you can do is if you can almost read but maybe it's just a little unclear, is deblur or sharpen or something in a good photo editing program, and you might be able to read it a little better.
You cannot get any more information in out of a picture than is already in it.
What is Credibility and Validity regarding sources?
A credible source is one that is believable; it would be some person or organization who has a history of being accurate or reliable, and/or has good qualifications for the particular subject in question. A valid source is one that is honest and logical, which arrives at conclusions or presents data in a way that appears to be legitimate.

When you are creating a search strategy nesting is useful because?
Continuing with the example of global environmental protection, a comprehensive search statement would include each of the major concepts of the topic as well as the related terms (synonyms) that you've identified.
A possible nested search statement could be:
(global OR international OR multinational OR worldwide)
AND
(environment OR ecology)
AND
(protect? OR conserv? OR regulat?)
How the search engine searches (general representation*):
*Each database's search engine searches differently so results may vary.

Applied research is a form of systematic inquiry involving the practical application of science. It accesses and uses some part of the research communities' (the academy's) accumulated theories, knowledge, methods, and techniques, for a specific, often state, business, or client driven purpose. Applied research is compared to pure research (basic research) in discussion about research ideals, methodologies, programs, and projects.
Applied research deals with solving practical problems and generally employs empirical methodologies. Because applied research resides in the messy real world, strict research protocols may need to be relaxed. For example, it may be impossible to use a random sample. Thus, transparency in the methodology is crucial. Implications for interpretation of results brought about by relaxing an otherwise strict canon of methodology should also be considered.
