Please remember that the bank will never ask you for personal information ourside of their offices. This include Social Security numbers, account information, addresses, phone numbers, identifying passwords and any other peice of information that can identify you. Banks have never and never will ask you to identify yourself online or over the phone. These emails are phishing scams in order to get your personal information. If you have any questions about any email sent to you call your bank (don't use any number attached to the email, look the bank number up. It can be found online, in your local phone directory and sometime on the back of your debit card) and verify it came from them. Even then, submit all documentation in person at your local branch.

The banks cannot shut down a valid account without the account owners permission short of a court order, at which point they will call the account owner personally and have them come into the bank.

Again, the bank will never call you then ask for personally identifying information. They will always have you call them back first.

You should not, password is there for a reason and if you attempt to bypass it you will most likely be violating policy which could lead to negative action being taken against you. It always private. One good strategy for picking passwords is not using single words which could be hacked using a brute-force dictionary attack but using a combination of letters from multiple words and phases with special characters and mixed upper and lower case characters. This is harder to hack.
