Cannot shift 1999 Isuzu amigo out of park?

If your 1999 Isuzu Amigo won't shift out of park, it could be due to a faulty brake light switch, which prevents the shift interlock from releasing. Check if your brake lights are functioning; if not, replacing the brake light switch may solve the issue. Additionally, ensure the gearshift is fully engaged in the park position and that the shift cable is not damaged. If the problem persists, consult a mechanic for further diagnosis.

Where is radiator drain plug on 1998 Isuzu amigo?

To access it, you may need to raise the vehicle and ensure that the engine is cool before attempting to open the plug to avoid any burns from hot coolant. Always have a container ready to catch the draining fluid.

How do you remover starter on 2.2 1998 amigo?

It's not easy...it's located on the passenger side beside the wheel well. Access is nearly impossible, but two bolts hold it in place one of which is through the bell housing (transmission case). You WILL need to remove the cross brace that is adjacent to the starter. Two nuts hold it place, but if you remove the bottom one and loosen the top one you may be able to remove it. I removed mine only because i had to replace the oil pump and had to take the engine out.

How many miles can you put on a 99 izusu amigo till it breaks down?

Although I love my 99 amigo (4 cylinder, manual transmission) they require a-lot of maint. I've replaced the radiator, plastic cold side coolant distributor, thermostat, clutch and throwout bearing, fixed a head gasket leak (never ran it hot), timing chain tensioner, water pump, timing sensor, alternator twice and fuel pump. In fact I've got more money invested in the repairs (and I did most of them myself) than I have in the whole car. Bought the car with 37,000 miles for 4500.00 and the car now has 97,000 miles,

How do you remove the brake-light lens cap on a 1999 Isuzu Amigo?

I just replaced the 1157 bulb in the right rear housing of my '99 this week. The housing is held in by two screws in the side and another in the bottom dead center. after removing the screws the unit pulls stright out from the back. Be careul as there are two push in locator pins atached to the back of the housing. If you should break one off JB Weld works wonders...hint, hint. Once the light unit is loose you will see that the wiring harness socket is the only thing holding it in the truck. This is a plastic spring clip that releases at the bottom rear. Note that it only goes back in one way. With the wiring unplugged you can now take the light unit somewhere comfortable. you will see that the lens is held in from the back with screws. I hope his is helpul john

What kind of tool do you use to check transmission fluid on a 2000 Honda Passport?

well...a wrench and you. The 2000 Passports don't have a dipstick to check the transmission fluid like you'd expect. To check the transmission fluid you have to get under the vehicle. On the transmission fluid pan there is a fill plug. Take out the fill plug (with the engine off) and using a syringe inject fluid in the hole until is leaks out. Then start the engine let it run a few minutes and put more fluid in until it leaks out again. Put the plug back in and PRESTO! :P

How do you remove rotors on a Isuzu amigo?

For the rear, remove the tire and wheel. Remove the Brake Caliper and Brake pad bracket. Then the rotor should slide off the wheel studs. The front may have to have the spindle retaining nut and cotter pin removed once the brake pad bracket is removed. Be careful to not get dirt in the bearing.

Does any year of the Isuzu Amigo's have a removable hardtop?

the manufactures answer is no, but the answer to me is yes.... in order to remove it from a 98 or newer amigo you must remove the rear Glass window and that requires removing 1 thing of weather stripping from the vehicle, so if you dont mind that then the top can be removed.

AnswerYes, my son has a 1999 Isuzu Amigo with a removable hard top. AnswerInterestingly, just last eve, after seeing an ad for a convertible one and being unfamiliar with the model, I was researching these vehicles. The seemingly expert discussion I read said that they only made 2 versions: Convertible and fixed hard top. That was because they made a study of Jeep CJ owners (it's most similar competition), which indicated something like 97% never removed the hardtop on those vehicles, and making the top removeable costs like $500 more and has engineering problems.

The convertible Amigo has a canvas (supposidly) easily retractable top where the hartop portion would otherwise be. Unfortunately, it also has plastic windows.

I own a 1992 Isuzu Amigo that has a removable hard top and the window is glass... In fact it only takes two bolts to remove it and it comes off pretty easy. I'm a girl and I remove it myself but, of course after I remove the bolts I need a little help to lift it off...
