I'm pretty sure if you lay it side by side with a Stevens 5000, 5100, and 311 you'll find it is identical to one of them. Useable Stevens doubles sell for $150 to $200 and some people will pay as much as twice that for the 410s.

Your Flues model was manufactured somewhere around 1917. Who ever gave you that first answer is Wrong! If your asking about a model 37 it came out in 1937, Your serial number falls between 202951 & 302500 which means it was made in 1949.

Depends on where you try to sell it. For example, try and take it to a Gander Mountain and they'll tell how great of a gun it is (which I agree) but will then tell you that they have a policy in place to not buy Ithaca model 51's. The reason is the replacement parts are too expensive; thus making the gun, in there eyes, essentially worthless. Consider it a "niche" market. Someone has to be looking for THAT gun, not just A gun.

That is not the serial number. It is the Patent Number. The serial number is found below this number. The Model 37 I have has this patent number on it and the serial number is 24071. I would also like to know the manufacture date of this rifle.

"Usually" between $700 - $1,000 with the average price closer to the lower number however there are a number of factors that can affect price. These include:

1) Overall condition of the firearm (ie - like new, excellent, good, fair, poor, etc.).

2) Serial number (when was the gun made?) Sometimes this has an enormous impact on the price and sometimes no effect at all.

3) The "grade" of a particular model. Is it a base model or the top-of-the-line Mag 10?

This can involve customized features such as engraving, custom stock, special metal coatings, etc.

4) Accessories - extra choke tubes, custom springs, and other extras that add value.

Since the current Ithaca company does not have those records we can only guess at the date. I do have these facts and you can see where your shotgun fits. Serial number 510040xxx was made circa 1973 as it is a 20ga and they were not mfg until then. Then 510080xxx was made circa 1975, and 5100103xxx was mfg circa 1977. So you 510061631 was made circa 1974. Best I can do. Remember this is only a guess based on actual purchase dates of the three Ithaca shotgun mentioned. nge of ownership at Ithaca, and published records are incomplete. They began making the Model 51 in 1970. You might try emailing Ithaca Gun Company to see if they can provide a date of manufacture.

From what I understand, its a big 10 gauge shotgun, more specifically a shortened police variant of the Ithaca Mag-10.

Dodge, I bought an Ithica LSA 55 in 1969 or 1970 brand new in 308 cal. My rifle has performed solidly for 38 years. If i could do it all over again, it would be a 243, only because i live in Georgia and don't hunt anything larger than whitetail. The 243 is good for both small and large game. If i were you i would keep the rifle or give it to a young hunter in your family as such a fine rifle will be hard to replace unless you are willing to fork out many centabos. I have a Rodgers Arms Co. Double barrel 12 gauge shot gun. The patten date stamped in frame under the barrels Nov 25' 90 with March 12' 95 stamped below the first. The barrels are made of Damascus steel. Their guns are very similar to the ones manufactured by Stevens / Savage just a few years later. I have also had a hard time finding any information about the company.
