How do you adjust alarm sensitivity on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6?

To adjust the alarm sensitivity on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6, locate the alarm control module, usually found under the dashboard or near the driver's side kick panel. There may be a small potentiometer or dip switches that allow you to adjust the sensitivity level. Use a screwdriver to turn the potentiometer or toggle the switches according to the desired sensitivity. Always consult the owner's manual for specific instructions related to your vehicle's alarm system.

How do you bleed breaks on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6?

To bleed the brakes on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6, start by ensuring the brake fluid reservoir is full. Begin at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, usually the rear passenger side, and use a brake bleeder kit or a helper to pump the brake pedal while you open the bleeder valve until fluid flows without bubbles. Repeat this process for the other wheels in the order: rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger, and finally front driver. Always check the fluid level in the reservoir throughout the process to prevent introducing air into the system.

Where is the location of O2 sensor on 1994 Jaguar XJ6?

The oxygen sensor is located on the top side of the exhaust pipe, just ahead of the catalytic converter.

The Haynes book will suggest dropping the exhaust system at the header, but you can actually remove and replace the O2 sensor without removing anything else.

You'll need a box-end wrench or a LINE WRENCH (size according to the new O2 sensor) with a slightly angled "box" end, so you can reach up on top of the exhaust pipe. To get the wrench on the sensor, cut the sensor wires very near the top of the old sensor.

To install the new sensor, bring the whole wire/connector assembly down under the car. You can buy the whole sensor/wire harness assembly, but it'll cost you. In the alternative, just get the new sensor with 20 centimeter wires and splice the new sensor wires to the existing assembly (black wires are interchangeable, but match the white one to white). Then, if you don't have a LINE WRENCH, slip the the wire assembly through the wrench box and keep the wires out of the way as you install the sensor.

Then the clumsy/tricky part is twisting the new sensor with its wires in the opposite direction from the way you'll have to screw it into its threaded hole, so that when you tighten it the wires will "untwist" back to normal. When the new sensor is tight (but not too tight), feed the wires back out through the wrench box. Then run the wires back up over the transmission to their connection plugs. (I always tie a string to the plugs before pulling the wires down under the car, then just reattach when done and pull the wires back up where they started.)

This is a long description, but sure beats dropping the exhaust pipe.

Jaguar XJ6 1991 brake failure pedal is solid but no brakes as if power brakes not working got an electrical fault warning light on dash any ideas?

This one might be expensive. It could be a number of things. Is your mineral oil res. full? If so it could be either the power steering pump *it controls the flow of your mineral oil giving it partial pressure* or your nitrogen ball could need replacing.

1995 jaguar xj6 won't start engine shakes smell of fuel?

ignition coils possibly out in more than one cylinder car will try to start but sparkplugs will not ignite fuel. Go to any auto parts store and buy a code reader. More than likely your car has already stored some codes in it's memory. This tool will save you hundreds of dollars in the long run if you expect to keep your jag and can do some of the work yourself. The car must be running in order to get any codes so hopefully it already stored them. I'm talking from experience. It's the best investment I ever had. It my very well tell you whats wrong. Hope this helped Bud Sisto. P.S. If you need replacement coils check out Ebay first as the retail coils are $175 at their cheapest, but I found three used ones for $90 and they work just fine. they are for sale there quite often.

What is a 103 Charge circuit failure?

Copied from an old thread (it works; I've had to do it twice):

I would advise you to try this:

1-Make sure the unit is completely off.

2-Hold down the "FN" key and turn the unit on with the main sliding Power switch and immediately start to tap the "F11" key.

3-The unit will look likes it's shutting down. Let it do this three times.

This resets the CMOS. On first boot, the POST will check the RAM and inform you that changes have been made. Accept the changes. This also resets all of the information in the BIOS to the defaults. If you hva made changes (security passwords, asset numbers, language, etc.) enter the BIOS first and record all these settings so you can restore them afterwards.

Just to confirm this really does work.

Tried it on an old Compaq Armada E500, which had been dropped and has damage around the power jack.

"103 Charge Circuit Failure" Message appeared even without battery inserted so clearly not battery related.

CMOS reset worked instantly, as soon as I had done the reset, orange chargeing light came on, and no more 103 message.

Many thank to the OP.

## Just to confirm, I followed this procedure and it worked perfectly on my old E500 ##

Thanks for the info.
