where the speedo cable goes into the trans there a small orange plasic piece that you need to change all the teeth are gone on it it cost 10.00 $
Check coolant level Make sure cooling fan is operable cooling system efficiency degrades with miles... added heat in the condensor, and load on the engine may be enough combined with miles to heat up a little...IF ITS ALOT, aim for thermostatic stuff like fan control and dirty in-nerds in the cooling system...also, check all the tune-related items, and make sure you don't have a chocoalte milkshake inside the underneath of the OIL FILL CAP...indicating a blown head gasket... a teetering cooling system may be behind the whole thing...:)

Where is the Fuel injection sensor on a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Components go from,
Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Fuel Line, Fuel Rail, Fuel Injectors, Fuel Pressure Regulator, back to Fuel Tank.
Fuel Controls/Sensors
Throttle Position Sensor tells computer where the trottle is and adjust fuel flow to injectors, Coolant Temp Sensor tells computer if engine is cold or hot and adjust fuel mixture, O2 Sensor tells the computer if it is running rich or lean to adjust fuel mixture.
There is no Fuel Injection Sensor for a 94. I would think someone is meaning the Fuel Pressure Regulator. If it is the 5.2 engine, at an idle your fuel pressure sould be approx 31 lbs. When youpull the vacume line from the Fuel Pressure Regulator, it should go up appox 8-10 pounds. I hope this helps you as I don't know what engine we are talking about.
There are several sensors which provide data for the fuel injection. Crankshaft position; near flywheel behind motor. Cam position; near balancer or distributor. O2; exhaust manifold outlet. Throttle position; exterior of throttle body. Coolant temp; thermostat housing, intake, or block. Intake temp; intake manifold. Intake pressure; intake manifold or connected to it by a vacuum line. Knock; engine block. Vehicle speed; transmission or speedometer cable.

Where is the oil sensor located on a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
If you mean the oil sending switch, mine is located immediately beside the oil filter. In fact, last montha ham-fisted mechanic at the dealership broke it when he was removing the oil filter and had to replace it.
On the V8 5.2L it is located on the top of the engine, near to the firewall next to the distributor on the passenger side. It does require a special tool to remove because it is tall like a deep socket but fat enough that a deep socket will not work on it.
Most lights on modern cars are function specific - one bulb for the brakes another for signalling, etc.... Find the bulb that is loose or blown and tighten or replace it.
AnswerPerhaps the first thing to consider would be that the bulb is burnt out or loose. AnswerThe following site discusses all lights in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and includes pictures and diagrams on how to access them so that bulb changes can be made: http://www.wjjeeps.com/lamps/lampsrem.htm#EXTERIORREMScroll down to find specifics about removing the rear housing so that the brake light can be changed.
Problem solved...the culprit was bare neutral switch wires shorting out and blowing the fuse!!!!!
Where is transmission fluid cap on 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited?
to add transmission fluid, pour it down the tube where the dip stick goes. Not the dip stick for the motor oil, but the transmission fluid. It is located by the fire wall under the hood. I use a funnel attached to a hose to stick in the tube, makes it a whole lot easier.
What does it take to put a 400 crank in a 350?
The small block 350 uses a smaller main bearing diameter than the Small block 400. To run a 400 crank in a 350 the crank must be "turned" down at a machine shop to fit the 350 bearing diameters. You also will need to use special pistons with the correct compression height for the 350 IF you are using the 5.7 inch 350 connecting rods. If you use the 5.565 inch 400 connecting rods , then you can use regular 350 pistons. The longer stroke 400 crank also requires that you provide additional clearance inside the block, by grinding notches to eliminate the crank hitting the block and other parts. Finally, the entire engine must be re-balanced to make sure that the engine does not vibrate. The 400 is externally balanced and the 350 is internally balenced so you need to use 400 flywheel and 400 harmonic balancer.
What would cause your 95 grand Cherokee to cut out when accelerating?
If it is losing acceleration and jerking badly, it could mean its misfiring, which means it needs an igniton system tune up, (i.e. spark plugs, wires, distributor, etc.) Mine was doing the same thing a while back, replaced those and it runs like new. Jeep tune up kits are available everywhere for good prices.
How do you change transmission fluid in a 1994 Jeep Wrangler?
There are two large flat hex bolts on the driver's side of the transmission. Use a pan to catch the fluid as you loosen and remove the lower bolt. As the fluid is draining, remove the upper plug. When fluid has stopped draining, replace lower plug and then fill transmission through upper plug until fluid is level with bottom of hole. Replace upper plug.
How do you replace Jeep pitman arm on 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
You will need 2 tools to do the job right. Both of these can be rented from AutoZone then returned for a complete refund. First is what we old schoolers call a pickle to take the long arm off the pitman arm. then you will need to take the big nut off that is holding the pitman arm to the steering box. you then need the pitman arm puller that is the second tool from AutoZone. Slide it over the pitman and use a big wrench to tighten the bolt. It should be cake from there. Hope this helps. ... just to add: you should also buy (not rent) a can of penetrating oil. Spray it on the night before and let it get in there. The next day, the pitman will come off a bit easier. If that doesn't work, heat it with a small torch first.
the 70 series tire will be about half an inch shorter than the 75. should be no problem. Your spedometer will be about 1-2 mph faster than you are actually traveling at highway speed. In town the spedo will probably be so close that it will not matter. No, this will be more than 3% difference which is not recommended. Switch to size 225/70-15. This is less than 2% difference in diameter and will have little effect on speedometer or braking. When increasing aspect ratio, go up one size.
How do you repair a wet floor board in a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
If its on the passenger side, it is probably the air- conditioner condenser drain plugged up and this is not good. From what I have read this is better left to a qualified Jeep mechanic. when the drain gets plugged up, the water that normally drips into the body, frame area collects on the passenger side floor. Unless someone knows a cheaper fix. Its 1000.00+ at a dealer.
What size belt do you use to bypass the ac on 1997 grand Cherokee with 5.2 engine?
Just tell the parts store you need the belt for grand w/o A/C. A/C could be deleted when the vehicle was ordered new and everything else stayed the same place, they should stock both belts.
Can a 1998 Jeep Cherokee be flat towed?
If a 4wd, and all tires are on the ground, yes.
Put the transfer case in "N" with the trans in "P" or in gear if a manual.
What would cause high oil pressure in 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0?
I have the same problem on my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 and was told it's a bad pressure monitor sender that wasn't reading the pressure correctly. I'm not sure if this is correct and I am continuing to look into the problem.
MY 4.0 WOULD PEG OUT HIGH AFTER YOU STARTED IT. IT WAS ALWAYS THE SENSOR LOCATED BELOW THE DISTRIBUTER. NOT TOO HARD TO SEE. HAPPENED EVERY COUPLE OF YEARS( 50K-60K MILES)
Where is the starter located on a 1995 Jeep grand Cherokee?
if you look under the vehicle passengers side door you will see the engine and transmission the starter is bolted the transmission
mudislife2: there are three bolts holdong it on. one for the wire and two to hold the starter on. it is incredably easy to change if its a 6cyl.
How do you remove front bumper cover on 2000 impala?
Crawl underneath the front of the vehicle and use a slotted screwdriver to pry off the splash shield in each wheel well directly in front of both front tires. Once the shields are removed, you can access the screws securing the bumper cover to the fender.
Remove the two screws on each side of the bumper cover with a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the bumper cover from the front of the vehicle by pulling it up and off the Impala. You may need another person to help you remove the bumper cover. Install a new bumper cover by placing it onto the front of the Impala.
Crawl underneath the Impala again and reinstall the two screws on each side of the bumper cover. Reattach the splash shields to the wheel wells.
How do you check the charging system on a Nissan?
If you have a DVOM, test for voltage at the positive battery cable at the battery, not testing at the battery but at the cable, when the engine is running. Now check for power at the battery post with the engine running, should be the same. Next test the battery when the engine is not running, key off, yes, this time testing for voltage at the battery post and cable, should be the same. If all four test voltages are the same, you have a charging system problem. The test at the battery cable when the engine is running should be aprox 13.5 to 14 volts at the cable. One thing to keep in mind, corrosion at the + battery cable can prevent the battery from charging and that's why the test for the charge system when the engine is running is best at the cable not the battery. If you have different readings when the engine is running at the cable and battery post, (the battery test results are the same when running and when not running, but the battery test at the cable is 13.5 to 14 volts) it is probably a corrosion problem. Clean the corrosion between the + battery cable until the voltages are the same at the cable and battery post. This is not a thorough test for the battery condition as you are only checking volts, not amps.
The cheapest way is to just take it to any Autozone , or similar parts stores ! They have the equipment on hand , AND they check it for FREE ! They will be able to tell you if you have a bad battery or faulty alternator . Most of these places are honest and tell you what if anything you nedd to replace . I thought I had a bad alternator a while back . Took it in and tested it . The battery had a bad cell in it .
So no need to buy the fancy equipment . Hope that helps !
